As an astronomer, I am impressed by how accurately you keep track of the moon in your story. Every moon rise and moon set has been spot on until the end of this chapter. Earlier in the chapter you mention the new moon setting in the late afternoon (correctly)
"It grew later. The werewolves ate their meatless dinner. The moon set, and Minerva and Tonks arrived,. . ."
and then, again correctly, you describe them waiting for the moon to rise in the morning
"The night's not over. . . . .The four of us are going to ensure that you learn everything you need to learn before the moon rises." and "You'll all be questioned after the moon has risen and the Weresbane has worn off."
There are two places later in the story when the new moon sets at sunrise, rather than rising. Must be typos. Anyway - here are the places:
"The moon ¬finally set, and she released the wards"
(It's still morning here, so you probably mean for the new moon to rise.)
and
"It was, somewhat unbelievably, ten in the morning. They'd all known that the moon had set and the sun had risen,"
Anyway, I am completely caught up in you story. Lots of fanfics seem to run together in my mind, but your fic is so unique and vivid I can follow your updates with no problem.

| I'm not sure, but I think this is the first time I've reviewed this story, though I've been following it for a good twenty updates or so. Really love it, because even with the darker stuff, you still convey a fun element of humor. Well, except for this last chapter with Hermione blaming herself for Roger's death. That was really a shock, though I can see the connections her psyche would be making to get to the conclusion that she killed him. Anyway, I wanted you to know that you have me hooked (I regularly check for updates on Wednesdays Pacific Coast Time, just in case). Speaking of, what's your time zone? I want to know exactly when to start checking for "Thursday" updates. ;) Or special updates. :) |

| This is wrenching. You've quite beautifully shown us the shifts in mood, from boredom and teasing, to jubilation when all ten werewolves transform successfully, to terror, to determination, to sorrow and self-recrimination. And then they return to Hogwarts, completely worn out, and Severus attacks them, and attacks Hermione unforgivably when she's expected comfort from him. Her acquiescence with his ridiculous demands looks almost like masochism, although I suppose it's believable as mental and emotional exhaustion. But I can't believe that Severus doesn't know what has happened. That he's acted so cruelly anyway, because he's still so enraged with Hermione's showing him up after his baseless accusations and he wants to hurt her, is unforgivable. And clearly, he has. Surely this is well beyond time for Albus or Minerva to step in. Sorry your own life is so pressured these days; I wish you strength and a new GM who is a quick study, extremely capable, and appreciative of all you've been doing. For entirely selfish reasons, of course. (Please don't bother to answer this review!) |

| Once again, Severus proves himself an asshole. Sigh. I liked Draco sticking up for her, though. The traitor werewolf was quite a surprise - and a depressing peek at a darker side of the Auror Department. The idea that they have suicide pacts as part of their service training is a painful thought. Excellent chapter - I can't wait to see what happens to Hermione in the next part! |

| This has been a very peculiar chap – beginning in slow motion, then an utterly unexpected attack, calming down again, if not remaining a little bit strained, and then the big drumbeat at the end. --- I guess Severus knew about the Weresbane administration, and probably felt totally left out. --- On another note, please don’t stress yourself too much with answering reviews or even posting a new chap in time when your RL is just as demanding as it sounds to be. I think you should give no. 4 some leave before there’s too much exhaustion. Take care! |
