| As always, another great chapter. I love the dynamics between everyone. I am anxious to see what awaits me with each chapter. I am also anxious to find out when Harry will become the Phoenix (that's just my assumption coming in), if Hermione will let him know that she can become a Unicorn and the abilities that come along with those. I've wondered if she will share that with anyone because it seems to be something special for herd only. Although Harry and Hermione don't have any interest in each other, I can see Hermione sharing things with Harry long before she shares things with "Professor Snape", considering the fact that even when they were friendly toward each other, she didn't share much with him. Of course we came into their story after a while, so maybe they shared more than I'm aware. They certainly share a certain attraction for each other. Again, love the dynamics. I can't wait until the next chapter. =o) Author's Response: I'm so glad that you enjoyed it. Harry's transformation is still a few chapters away (and I will not say yea or nay to your assumption). Generally speaking, there is a considerable transition period where a significant other knows less than a friend; eventually this balances out and will probably tip the other way, but it doesn't happen immediately. With Severus--especially right now--Hermione doesn't know where she stands with him, and she is on far surer footing with Harry. Thanks, as always, for taking the time to review. ^_^ | |||

| I find myself actually looking forward to Thursday now. Last Thursday when I was waiting for the Chapter to post I think I went to this site like 10 times through out the day looking for it. I'm just so insanely anxious to see what happens next! I love this story seriously and i am soooo happy that you post regularly and that everything is just moving along just amazingly. | thank-you for an intriguing, well-plotted and out-and-out smart tale. there are very few fics that I feel compelled to review, but this is rapidly becoming a favourite. i like characters in stories to be smart and think instead of running around 'half-cocked', and so far, all of your characters do just that. bravo. looking forward to the coming chapters, though i can't help but echo some of the other reviewers and wish that they'd pop up sooner... :) Author's Response: You're very welcome; thank *you* for taking the time to leave a review. My characters, like most people, have blind spots and moments of stupidity, but Hermione is one of the least likely people I can envision running around 'half-cocked'; she almost always has a plan and is smart enough to pull it off. | Great story. Poor Severus. I really enjoy the strength of Hermione and Harry's friendship and Fawkes's role. Can't wait to read about the full moon and am wondering what Harry's animagus is, a phoenix perhaps? Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the fic and the Hr/H interaction. | There were two things in particular that drew my attention in this chapter: (1) I wonder how long Severus observed our favourite pair for? Did he hear only the "I love you"s? did he hear more than that - the declaration of love for other people, but he discounted this because the following "I love you"s enraged him so much? did he watch them dance the tango, but didn't hear anything at all? I wonder all these things, and in truth, it doesn't really matter. What it shows though, is how well you have drawn me in: it's the writing that makes me think about the story. Any standard writer would probably have told me what Severus saw; there would be no suspense, no attachment, no further thought. This skill you have makes this story so much more enjoyable than pretty much all others that I have read to date. (2) I have this beautiful imagery in my head of Severus gesticulating wildly, followed by the wind being severely blown from his sails. I love the tension you create between these two characters! Keep up your good work, and don't let my praise go to your head!!! Author's Response: When I write, I tend to stick to one POV (or occasionally to alternate between two POV's between chapters or big sections); I'm not opposed to multiple POVs written more-or-less simultaneously, but what comes out of my head is usually a deep immersion in one character. My goal, therefore, is to have my readers know what Hermione knows and no more; the reader can, of course, work out things that my emotionally involved MC can't from the evidence at hand, but the tension, the suspense, as you say, comes from your not getting materially further ahead than Hermione. She doesn't know how long Severus has been there, so the reader doesn't, either. That's the goal, anyway ;) . The birthday gift scene was one which was very visual for me, too ^_^ . | Another excellent chapter! Very rude of you though to leave it on that cliffhanger. Now my week is going to drag until Thursday. Arghhh... I hope Draco is ok (otherwise Harry is gonna be one pissed puppy). Anyway, thank you for the wonderful chapter. Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wonder how much longer it will take Hermione to figure out, that Snape is even more snappish than usual, because he’s jealous… And if he, himself has figured it out yet…
And how long ‘til our pure ones are found out?
