Reviews for The Problem with Purity

What is his problem now? He was the one complaining that she hadn't made any moves on him (remember he asked if all they were going to do is brew?) and now that she is making some moves, he doesn't approve. And in the next chapter she gets a second chance? It better be to hex his balls off, maby that freezing charm might work.........

I am amazed by the ways that you portray these characters. I find myself thinking that if this relationship were to bloom between Severus and Hermione he really would act this way. I don't think Hermione would be so daft, but who knows. It is proven that she has book smarts, but what about matters of the heart. She seems to be feeling her way around him and walking on eggshells. Of course I think I would too if the man can make love like that. As always I look forward to your next chapter.

Why doesn't Hermione simply ask Severus what specifically is making him uncomfortable? Before she works on her seduction skills, she should improve her communication skills. The pattern between them seems to be: misunderstanding, anger/hurt, and much later, some resolution of the original misunderstanding. That's not a relationship. And Severus isn't much better - he seems to be forgetting that in February, he practically ordered her to drink the potion and was angry when she asked what it was. And now he is surprised by her level of "trust?" I really don't understand how Hermione can claim to be in love and mated for life, to someone she doesn't understand and can't communicate with, and who doesn't seem to understand, or communicate with, her.

I have to agree with those reviewers who have expressed unhappiness with the Hermione-Severus dynamic in this fic. Although I really like the story and consider it a very engrossing and well thought out tale, I can't say I approve of the so called 'relationship' between the principles. As other reviewers have said, it's contradictory to have a strong Hermione that lets Severus walk all over her emotionally. And as nice as the 'mousse gesture' is, it cannot replace an outright (and much needed) apology. Not only that, but he has made no attempt to really communicate with Hermione, while requiring her to spill her guts emotionally. All these things leave me with the conclusion that there is no reciprocity in this relationship. And that, I think, is the root of the discontent of some of your readers. I suppose there's nothing to do except wait and see how you choose to reconcile the lovers and whether or not your characters will grow and progress past their flawed natures.

Still not altogether abandoning that angsty edge, I see. Alls well with that. I suppose I wouldn't really know how to react if everything were mostly orgasms and rainbows. Thank you for this engenius work of sheer talent and skill. It brightens my day even when it is at its dreeriest. ~Mia

Oh no, must be that time of the week again! Snape is suffering from a case of PMS (Potions Master's Syndrome). Poor Snape, can't imagine what it must be like to tell the one you love that there is a potions master's version of the rag. Well, I've been so glad you've kept the updates steady and that you haven't abandoned your amazing fic in the middle. I say enjoy you're holidays ( but remember to come back of course!) Oh, one thing that has been bothering me, maybe you can explain this to me? In your fic, you stated that when a person sleeps with a pure adult, their power is increased or amplified. I know Snape is a strong wizard on his own, but I was wondering if we are going to see more out of him and Draco? They seem to be out powered by Harry and Hermione (which Is logical) But I was wondering if we'll get a better idea on how this magic affected them?

So, I'm pretty sure you have them break up every time she's about to brew the Weresbane just to torture me. Or them. Seriously. I bet it's causing problems in Severus' twisted mind.... speaking of, I'm worried about what could cause his reaction to Hermione. Nothing good, I imagine...
Near future? What near future? omg. I don't know what day the near future refers to, and this is going to lead to obsessive page checking. Just so you know.

Oh yeah, and what exactly does Hermione get a second chance at? Hopefully not Severus because HE'S the one that hopes he gets a bloody second chance.
