| I glad you continued this chapter from the ending of chapter 2. I was confused by Hermione's verb choice since it made it sound as if they had already had a first time. Like Harry, I 'got' it going into this chapter. Author's Response: The end of chapter one was definitely designed to be one of those mid-conversation cliffies that leaves the reader going, "Huh," and hurries them on to the next chapter. | The fic you got the defensive Transfiguration from is "Resonance" by GreenGecko. It took me a half hour to go through all my bookmarked stories, because I just KNEW I had read it only a few weeks ago.
Anyway, I have thusfar been absolutely enthralled by your prose. Your characters are being wonderfully fleshed out, and I love the Hermione you are writing. Harry's maturity is also a refreshing change from the usual. I look forward to more. Author's Response: *hugs nice reviewer and offers a cookie* I had too many bookmarks and couldn't remember any other identifiable features of the fic in question (as it's been several years since I read it), so I really appreciate that you did the legwork on this one. Thank you for taking the time to review; I get annoyed with a bratty Harry and need him to get older at some point. Hermione is one of my favourites, and I enjoyed this fic for the opportunity to explore her in-depth after OotP. More is in the queue ^_^ | |||

| How well written! You've certainly made it a believable beginning-of-the-school-year chapter. I look forward to more! Author's Response: Thank you. It was a struggle not to make it boring or too like one of JKR's initial chapters, but given the level of detail in the story and the fact that we're in Hermione's POV, I didn't feel that it could be skipped over completely; it's great to hear that it worked for you. | Ok, two Gryffindors as Head Boy and Head Girl, and Potter and Granger to boot, indicates some very unpleasant politics is going on. Author's Response: Having a headmaster like Dumbledore makes for some interesting times. I think I've got a precedent for making him appoint Hermione and Harry, given that he appointed James and Lily once upon a time; the war might not have been quite as outright then, but it was getting awfully close. Perhaps it's largely because we don't get to know any other female characters in Hermione's year particularly well, but I can never see anybody but Hermione as Head Girl. In my fics (and in most of the fics I read, for that matter), it's either Harry or Draco for Head Boy, and I can honestly see Albus choosing either. I hope I've begun to establish that Harry has matured a lot from OotP, and both he and Hermione have shown leadership skills and are committed to school unity. While it *is* awfully partisan to choose two Gryffindors for the role, Albus believes that they'll do right by the school. It's also useful for the purely practical reasons of facilitating their training with Severus, and Albus wants the war won above all else. *shrugs* I think most of us will agree that Albus doesn't always do things fairly. | |||

| I *never* review, but I just had to post and say that your story is shaping up to be one of my favoritest fics ever! Thank you for posting--and I wish it could all magically appear at once without waiting for the queue! | I think that a lot of the reason that this story is so striking and appealing is that it is writen so differently Hermione is very organized and intelligent and the writing in this story shows that .Everything make's sence its well thought out it shows linear thinking and that is in keeping with the character. But I would also like to note that while this story is done well and holds my interest completely in the wrong hands this could make a story much like one of professor Binns classes.can't wait for your next.
