| Brilliant chapter! I loved the bit where Severus admits he didn't actually expect Hermione to serve her extra detentions ;) Lol! I for one am happy the Harry is a phoenix, it suits his personality etc in this fic perfectly :) looking forward to next Thursday xx Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. Severus isn't really the sort to let someone off scot-free--or at least, he doesn't think his image will stand for it--but he actually understands all about extenuating circumstances if the need can truly be proved to him. | A great chapter with lots of focus on the weresbane, which I found really interesting. I have two observations: 1) That Severus never actually confirmed she would have so many detentions, just that she must come the next evening. 2) Sometimes with this story I think that every disaster is (relatively) easily thwarted - you've left us on a cliffhanger this chapter, and I'm torn: sometimes I think because you have chapters dedicated to specific short time periods it feels like all the drama and resolution happens at once. It's very fast paced and intense. That said, I don't want you to change, because then something permanently bad could happen! I hope that the animagus transformations are not a complete disaster. Author's Response: I'm glad you found the Weresbane focus interesting. It's very important to Hermione (obviously), so she ends up thinking about it a lot, which I have tried not to make too boring for the reader. 1) No comment ;) 2) I suspect that this has some roots in the perfect!Hermione debate, and I don't have a neat answer, but here you go: Many of the problems that they've faced have indeed been resolved in a few chapters, or at least have had major resolutions with after-effects to follow. Most of these fall under the "little problem" category in my head. They may be more or less huge to the characters, but they often fall under the overarching problem of Pure Adults or Voldemort or Severus or what have you (and I liken them back to canon and events such as getting through the traps to the philosopher's stone); the little fast-paced problems are part of what moves us through the 600K to get to the final resolution without getting bored out of our minds (I hope). Hermione is a very determined woman, and faced with most problems, she works until she finds a solution, which is what you see here quite frequently. | No.... lol I wanted to see how it turned out! Great job! So I totally am contemplating about how Severus never *actually* said she'd have detentions forever... only asked if it was worth having detentions forever? Hmm... Even still, I can't wait to see how all that plays out. Poor Harry, totally left out of the loop- but he'll be okay. I can't wait to see more of Severus too- and his reactions to everything going on! So this story is totally amazing, and making Thursdays one of the best days of the week :) Thank you!
