Reviews for The Problem with Purity

Wonderful and necessary to character/plot development...but I am missing Severus. I wonder if you have considered doing a companion story from his perspective? Or maybe an interlude or two? I can't read his body language when Hermione's not around to see it, darn it! Thanks for the extra chapter! When this was posted, I actually thought, "wow! a THIRD chapter?!" before realizing it was already Thursday again. I loved Tonks' sympathetic look as she pushed Remus out of the training room. I entertained myself in quiet moments for days imagining the eyerolls at Severus in the staffroom when she realizes he's jealous and perhaps tries to clue him in. More scenes Hermione, and thus we, will never see naturally.

Author's Response: You are not the only one missing Severus. There's Hermione. All the other reviewers. Probably the readers who haven't reviewed. Me. This suggests I'm sadistic, doesn't it? *sigh* But given their characters, I honestly believe that there would be a dearth of Severus at this point. They've both come to a conclusion about how they think the other person feels, and it's left them … less than eager to confront one another because they don't think there's anything to confront one another about that won't end in more upset. While there's a vague possibility that there could be Severus POV outtakes one day, they're not going to go up concurrent to this fic. But he does continue to be present in this fic, we just all have to be patient. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed Tonks's sympathy. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Thanks a lot for this extra chap. --- I fully expected a confrontation between Hermione and Severus, but that obviously seemed not to be. I’ve to admit I’m rather glad that Hermione lost control, makes her more ‘human’, tightly controlled as she is regarding her emotions. First the difficult reconciliation with Ron-the-little-prat, then Severus-the-big-prat’s behaviour on top of it. Thoroughly annoying. Though I can’t work out his reasons to intercept – can’t be the obvious one, can it? Would be too petty. But whatever, perhaps we’ll learn about his thought process some day. At least, I hope so. --- I did wonder that it’s possible for Hermione to touch Castina, it seems her Animagus form (or perhaps being a Pure Adult) has some influence on her human form as well. --- I love the whole plot with Solace, the history behind the wards, the castle being sentient, the ‘relationship’ between it and H., and I very much look forward what you will do with this concept regarding the final confrontation with Voldemort.

Author's Response: Hermione and Severus are quite determined not to talk to one another, really; believing they know how the other person feels, they think that hashing it out would only result in more hurt. So Severus snaps and snarls, and Hermione withdraws—until she snaps, which is a lot like what Severus did. ;) We get to many of his motivations eventually, it just … takes time. It is both the Animagus form and being a Pure Adult (the former coming out of the latter) that allows Hermione to touch Castina. In essence, she is a unicorn as well as a human; unicorns can touch other unicorns, so Hermione—even when she's got a human form on the outside—can touch other unicorns. I'm glad that you're enjoying the details about Solace, the wards, and the castle. More on that will be coming up. Thanks, as always, for the review. ^_^

It was so sweet of Hermione to take care of Severus like that. I'm really interested in his reaction, I hope there will be something about it in the next chapter. Which will be posted around Thursday. And it's only Friday. Darn :) I also liked the scene with Ron - very believable. I could just see him exploding. He thought of Severus at once, that was rather surprising! I hope they can be friends again once he comes to terms with Hermione's choice. If he does :) Apart from that... what can I say... I'm running out of compliments for this fic and don't want to repeat myself. But you do know that this is my most favouritest fic of all times, don't you? :D

Author's Response: I'm glad you found Hermione's behaviour sweet (and, I infer, explicable); she cares about him, and even if she's angry with him, she can't help but respond when he's hurt. Every once in a while, Ron has those flashes of insight (to go along with that temper, lol). I sort of likened it to a chess move, having all the players/positions announced to him, sorting them out in his head, and working out the requisite move (though it was looking to the past rather than the future). I enjoy hearing anything you have to say about my fic, and I'm delighted that it's your most favouritest. :D Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Happy Canada Day! I really love Canada, I go to Vancouver every year for a music festival. Any ways, no time to leave a nice long review, I have to go find my big iron frying pan so I can smack Ron with it... Although you know your brilliant right? ;)

Author's Response: Thank you. There were some lovely fireworks. ^_^ I've never been to Vancouver, but I've heard lovely things about it. I suspect both Ron and Severus would be dead if my reviewers had their way over the course of the story. ;) Thanks, as always, for the review. ^_^

That dang Ron and his red-headed temper! I can't believe Hermione would tell him their secret! But even she makes mistakes....

Author's Response: Hermione and Harry still count themselves as Ron's friends (though what this actually means depends on Ron, of course). She sees a distinct difference between hiding their secret from everyone and hiding it specifically from Ron; she therefore does her best to salvage the relationship (primarily for Harry's sake). She knew he'd blow up, and she isn't messing about when she told him he couldn't speak about it. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

In all the hoopla of having a half-day off work and getting an exciting new haircut (hooray!), I completely forgot that Thursday = The Problem With Purity. La! How silly of me. This was excellent, as always. I was glad to see some semi-interaction between Snape and Hermione, even if it was while he was unconscious, but as Hermione seems to gather, these days it seems their interactions would all be better if he were unconscious. :) I'll be interested to see if there's any sort of reaction from Snape towards Hermione with regards to her tending to his arse. I would hope for a 'Thank You,' but that's pretty unlikely. Also, I enjoyed Hermione's conversation with Ron. I'm glad that she decided to tell him herself, and while his reaction was unfortunately, and typically, hotheaded, it's best that he found out from her or Harry as opposed to on his own. Hopefully he will come around much more quickly than the last time. Well done! I would plead for more bonus chapters, but then they wouldn't be 'bonuses' exactly if we got them every week! :)

Author's Response: I hope your new exciting haircut continues to keep you happy. ^_^ I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter even with the unconscious Severus; given how their relationship is going at the moment, it is indeed difficult to imagine that it would have gone better had he been conscious. I think Severus has difficulty reacting to unanticipated acts of human kindness, but we can always hope. ;) Ron might not always be the best of friends, but both Harry and Hermione still feel some loyalty towards him, and so Hermione makes do with what she has for trying to mend their relationship. The bonuses, sadly, will remain sporadic. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

I think Ron's reaction is right with his character but he sitill makes me mad

Author's Response: LOL I feel that way about his and Severus's reactions all the time. Thanks, as always, for the review. ^_^
