Just wonderful... Have I mentioned recently (or ever) how wonderful you are? Because you are. Your chapters never fail to mezmerize...I start reading, and it's like I'm instantly part of this story. The prose is wonderful. While I will admit that I skim each chapter for high points before perusing carefully, I love the slow read...getting to really lose myself. You have created such a dynamic universe. Thanks, as always, for the update. And I agree with you...you absolutely deserve a month-long vacation when work settles down a bit. PAID vacation!! Here's hoping you have a fantastic week... Kari

Oh this is so frustrating! I'm only half way through this chapter and have a flight to catch. I'll be in agonizing pain the entire trip now. Thank you so much for updating though!

I have been so thoroughly enjoying this story. And I'm quite sure I know why Severus is so angry, and why Poppy was so shocked. They, after all, don't know that the unicorn blood she used to heal him was freely given, right?

Hurray, I get to write the 80th review! First things first, thank you for saving Severus! This chapter (and story so far) has been running through my mind since last Thursday and I've enjoyed thinking about all the developments. I'm glad Hermione snapped too - and desperately hope that *someone* will go after her and save her the way she's been saving everyone else... but I also totally get Severus, and really don't feel it's too late for him! From the very beginning, it's been clear that he's totally in love with Hermione ("She offered me something I wanted"... her being in his class), they were forming an intimate, if hiccupy relationship (remember the decorations, aww!)... and then they crossed the line into physicality well before either of them were secure in the other's feelings. She said often enough that she wanted someone who didn't want her back... in his head, that couldn't possibly be him, so he lashed out, trying to hurt her before she could hurt him first... understandable, if very unhelpful for the end goal! I've winced a bit at some of the things Hermione's come out with out of her sense of pride, but neither of them are ready for the talk just yet... the joy is in waiting and seeing how their relationship is working towards something that makes both of them happy :) I've loved reading all the reviews for the different perspectives and obvious delight in the story - this story is something special, and I feel very lucky to be able to read it! Hope real life starts to calm down for you soon, I'll be on tenterhooks for the next chapter, as ever! :)

So far I believe this is one of the best chapters! Talk about a cliff hanger! :-) I'm not even sure where to begin. I read this chapter last Thursday and have been thinking about it a LOT since then. Here are my thoughts and ramblings on it. :-) I feel it's about time Hermione snapped. She has put up with a lot and I'm surprised (and not surprised) it took this long for everything to hit her like that. I agree with others that it's hard to see Severus and Hermione being together romantically after all this. I don't know if he could ever make up for the way he's treated her. The sad thing is I can see her forgiving him for it at some point. Also, since we're only reading Hermione's point of view, it's really hard to know what Severus has been thinking. I'm sure he's thought the worst of her intentions all along when it's just the opposite. They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. They may have a point. I'm thinking he probably couldn't fathom anyone doing something for him out of love or even kindness. So he imagines everyone is out to get him or has an ulterior motive, even Hermione. I'm also guessing that he thought he now has a cursed life due to the unicorn blood (guessing they figured it out in the infirmary). I'm also thinking that since it was willingly given (as someone else pointed out) that it might not be a cursed life. Why else would Hermione carry it in a vile around her neck? He is probably shocked that she's a unicorn and that she put herself in harms way to save him after he accused her of who-knows-what and threatened to kill her. Maybe this is the point where it all comes crashing down on him and he starts to realize just what a complete arse (that's being kind) he's been to her and that he's probably lost her for good. I am PRAYING that she doesn't go back and that someone goes out after her. They've all taken her for granted. I agree that some of it she brought on herself in a way. She took on a lot of stuff when she probably didnt need to. Plus she does seem to assume what's best for others without thinking it through. That doesn't mean she deserves any of this, though. It is a big mess and I hope someone goes groveling after her. I think she should take this time to take it easy and let them do without her for a while. She should stay away from Severus indefinitely, I believe. I do think he has some kind of feelings for her or he wouldn't be so angry at her and take everything so personally. If he didn't care, he would be indifferent and I doubt he'd single her out all the time, attacking her. There's a fine line between love and hate. I don't know how I'm going to survive until next Thursday, though! :-) This has got to be the BEST fan fiction I've read so far. The twists and turns are mind boggling at times! :-)

My. My, oh my. That was an awfully action-packed chapter, and my fingernails are a good deal shorter than before reading... Poor Hermione - none of her human companions bothers to get their head out of their respective arse long enough to a) give her a hug b) ask how she's doing c) compliment her an her achievements d) tell her they are bloody happy to have her on their side e) thank her, but instead, they all try to cater to their own bruised egos. Great. Really great. If that is not enough to drive someone away, what else is? There are a couple of people who have a lot of grovelling to do, if you ask me. A. Lot. Of. Grovelling. I'm more than curious how everything's going to evolve from here, so my mantra for the next couple of days is as follows: Is it Thursday yet? Is it Thursday yet? Is it Thursday yet? ... Thank you for writing and sharing this wonderful epic, and thank you for updating so reliably - knowing the next chapter *will* be there next Thursday has kept me sane on more than one occasion :-) And yes, I promise I'll review more often. Really.

I absolutely love this chapter, I have to say that's it's my favourite so far!! Go for Hermione's one womaned rescue mission, you had me nervous about whether or not she would get caught. So, phew for her getting out with Severus and outsmarting Voldemort. Also, your brilliant ending (to this chapter) not only left me very annoyed with silly!Severus, but also with teary eyes. I can't wait to see where Hermione goes and if she's alright. I hope everything's alright in the real world too ;)

Gods, I never cried like that while reading fanfiction! (-: I only realised at the and of the chapter that I had never expected Severus to react so angry. Why can't this man be thankful for once? I like how you are writing the story from Hermione's point of view so I can't understand Severus actions but can understand her perfectly well. So even after this chapter I would never ask her to try to stop loving him or you to pair her with another (like Victor). (-: The way you are writing this Hermione and Severus just have to be together and I'm disappointed every time they are fighting again. (But I'm always hoping his anger is a sign of how much he cares about her. Because then he just would have to love her very much! (-: ) I'm sorry I just wrote how I feel about the very end of this chapter but that was what touched me most. I always knew Hermione would be able to save Severus but I never expected this ending. But I really enjoyed the whole chapter and I'm looking forward to next Thursday!
