Reviews for The Problem with Purity

I really hope that "near future" means before Thursday. I have to tell you, I love this story, but I hate the waiting from week to week. It's torture! I want more and I want it now!

Author's Response: "Near future" is indeed likely to signify that I mean before Thursday. Unfortunately, these bonus chapters will tend to be few and far between so that I keep my job and continue to be able to post. ;) I'm glad you're still enjoying the story even if the wait is killing you. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Good chapter, but why the cliff-hanger?!?!

Author's Response: My cliffie note: As someone who very (very very) rarely reads WIPs, I feel your pain, I really do. But not only are cliffhangers an integral part of fanfic (to my mind, anyway), the endings are often just honest-to-goodness chapter endings. Have you ever been reading a book late at night and told yourself that you'll read just to the end of the chapter? And the next time you stop to think you realize you're already in the next chapter; you just kept going without thinking about it because you needed to know what happened next? Annoying not to be able to do it when you're in the middle of a WIP, I know, but the need for those sorts of endings is still there, or at least that's how I see it. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and that you've survived through as many cliffhangers as you have to make it this far. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

I don't suppose, since this was posted on Wednesday, that the "near future" would be Thursday 6/4, your normal posting day? Wishful thinking, I'm sure. I'd really like a glimpse into Severus' head right now. I can imagine he thinks Hermione slept with him just to get rid of her "pure adult" status and doesn't care about him otherwise? I'll just keep thinking that, as it's the only excuse for him being such an asshat about it.

Author's Response: LOL I still count Wednesday night as "around Thursday" and thus the normal post. But "near future" is indeed a hint at something that is *not* Wednesday/Thursday. Such bonus chapters will tend to be few and far between, however. Severus's head remains his own, since we're perpetually in Hermione's POV, but you should definitely hold onto whatever theories keep you going. (And you were doing all right with the naughty mousse thoughts, right? ;) ) Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Oh you wicked author! I hold no grudges for the doings of the chapter before this. But this here cliffie was murder!!!!! (Spendid chapter, by the way...I shall be looking forward to the NEAR future!)

Author's Response: LOL I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter even if the cliffie killed you. I hope you found the near future near enough. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Hmmm, "near future", eh? So that's probably not going to be in a week. Hopefully it'll be soon, because this chapter was great, especially the cliffhanger at the end.

Author's Response: Excellent guess about "near future". I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and the cliffie. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Can the "near future" be now, please?

Author's Response: LOL Not quite immediately, but it *was* less than a week. ^_^

You have to want to cause pain for being able to cast Cruciatus.... what does that say about Severus' state of mind or heart.

Author's Response: Yes, you do. I imagine it says many things about the state of Severus's mind and heart--Hermione and the readers simply aren't allowed to delve in and actually *see* what he's thinking and feeling. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

The barrage of spell-light coming at Hermione ... please tell me this isn't Severus still being an unbelievable arse and attacking her outside of their dueling sessions now? Speaking of Severus, his behavior has gone from idiotic but somewhat understandable to completely incomprehensible ... I mean, his mean-spirited baiting behavior is one thing, but attempting to use an Unforgivable on her? It would be one thing for all the parties involved to agree to testing whether Hermione and Harry's shielding abilities could deflect an Unforgivable, but what Severus did implies outright malicious intent, which doesn't make sense at all. Even if Hermione deliberately used him, which she didn't. So something major is going on with Severus, but what??? ^-^

Author's Response: LOL I won't speak about the next chapter in case you haven't read it yet, but it will answer your first question. As to Severus's behaviour during the duel, I think it would be one thing for him to decide off the bat to fling an Unforgivable at her. That isn't what happens, though, and I think someone who can fly off the handle when he gets enraged who now suddenly has a lot more power at his disposal is in a bit of trouble. I don't want to reveal too much that the reader and Hermione can't work out on their own in fic, though, so I'm not going to theorize out loud anymore here. Thanks, as always, for the review. ^_^
