Uh oh. I wonder who is attacking Hermione in the corridor? ^_~ Excellent chapter!

Author's Response: Most definitely somebody. ;) Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Hermione and Severus are very in character and I love the plot progression. Great update.

Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to let me know you think so; I'm glad you're enjoying the plot and the characterisation. ^_^

I suppose the cliffhanger was inevitable this chapter, but I can't say I enjoy them! My stomach always drops at the end of a chapter, because I know I have to wait another week to fill the void. Chapters like this when Hermione and Severus are in discord always leave my heart aching. I really do hope that I'm reading the little subtleties correcty and my little glimmer of hope isn't in vain! And oh, Draco and Harry! Maybe losing Pure Adult status has another side-effect: making one more prone to silly tiffs and misunderstandings with their partner lol. Speaking of which, I loved Hermione's new abilities, especially her excursion in the library! Very clever.

Author's Response: As someone who very (very very) rarely reads WIPs, I feel your pain, I really do. But not only are cliffhangers an integral part of fanfic (to my mind, anyway), the endings are often just honest-to-goodness chapter endings. Have you ever been reading a book late at night and told yourself that you'll read just to the end of the chapter? And the next time you stop to think you realize you're already in the next chapter; you just kept going without thinking about it because you needed to know what happened next? Annoying not to be able to do it when you're in the middle of a WIP, I know, but the need for those sorts of endings is still there. I'll have to leave you to see how it goes with Hermione and Severus (and Harry and Draco); it's new territory for all of them, lol. I'm glad you're enjoying Hermione's new abilities. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

I still really want to smack Snape...lovely writing as always

Author's Response: LOL If all my readers got to give in to those impulses, Severus would be in a lot of trouble. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed (so to speak, lol), and I appreciate that you once again took the time to leave a review. ^_^

Great chapter like always. Severus the arsehole is always annoying but definitely Severus, so good job on that. Good job on everything for that matter. No complaints here :). And what do you mean, "the near future"??? Does this have anything to do with you posting a day earlier than usual???

Author's Response: I'm glad you feel that Severus is still in character (even if annoyingly so). I count Wednesday nights as "nearly Thursday" and thus still part of the usual posting. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. ^_^

I wish I could add individual chapters amongst my favorites list. This would definitely have a place of pride there. I read portions of this out loud to myself, embarassingly enough, several times. How the hell have you not realised that you should be getting paid assloads of money for this? You are, hands down, perhaps the most creative and utterly enslaving author I have ever read, anywhere. (Meaning, published or freefanness.) I just want to shake the stupid out of Severus, and then make him reenact the picture of H and S on this website. Every time your chapter nears the end, my stomach sinks. I can't thank you enough for the gloriousness that is the length of your chapters. But I am never satisfied. I could read you forever. Honestly. It hurts to end a chapter of your and not have another to go on right then. And I'm not being trite or overdramatic by saying that. It always comes along unawares and pulls the floor out from under me. So when you say soon...? Does that imply sooner than next Thursday, or you'll get it when I damn well say it's done? Thank you. Really. When I say that you are the best, I couldn't be more underexaggerating if I tried. ~Mia

Author's Response: *beams* *hugs Mia* *beams again* You are very sweet, and I am very touched. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the chapter so much and that you found it worthwhile to read bits aloud. I try not to torture my readers *too* much, so if I say something other than "next Thursday", I'm probably hinting that I'll be posting before then. Unfortunately, bonus chapters won't be hugely prolific. Maybe you can think of it as getting the opportunity to savour the fic for as long as possible? ;) From an author's viewpoint, it's very pleasing to know that you always want more no matter how long my chapters are. Thanks, as always, for the review. ^_^

Also, having skimmed other reviews, I am suddenly wishing to teach one of those tedious reading comprehension classes, because the subtleties that make everything so comprehensible to me are obviously slipping right past other readers. But I will hold my tongue until you conclude this story, as I hate when authors suddenly seem to change plots and characters based on reviewers' guesses. However, I will say that I truly admire your use of body language and subtext to convey so much detail with such clarity.

Author's Response: LOL I'm glad it all makes sense to you and that you see so much in body language and subtext; it's definitely been a learning experience to see what makes sense to some and what is completely inexplicable to others. Since I don't want to give away what is planned, I'll abandon the topic just as you have done, and we'll just see where it goes in fic. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

Must you keep on with the cliffhangers? Truly, there's enough emotional upheaval within the chapters, and this story is so wonderfully involved, I can't imagine anyone ceasing to read. In response to the author's note, I think you kept them perfectly within the characters established in this story and last chapter was utterly realistic - heartbreaking, but perfectly in-line with the misunderstandings that have plagued them all along. Looking forward to next week, as always.

Author's Response: My cliffie note: As someone who very (very very) rarely reads WIPs, I feel your pain, I really do. Annoying not to be able to do it when you're in the middle of a WIP, I know, but the need for those sorts of endings is still there, or at least that's how I see it. I'm pleased to hear that you think Hermione and Severus were both in character. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^
