| I got the *coughs* in your comment, I just couldn't believe you'd go a whole chapter without any Snape at all. At least you have redeemed yourself with this chapter though! You caught me unawares with Severus' explanation about why he'd thrown Hermione out. When it happened I was convinced it was because he was insanely jealous of the evidence that she was sleeping with Harry, and was taking that out on Hermione. I think it's funny that they've had a whole conversation with each other about Hermione's chosen one not wanting her; it was really entertaining to read. Now that no unveiling occurred, I'm imagining Hermione plucking up the courage to ask to "see him socially" when she graduates. If he remains as clueless as he is now it'll be a really great reaction! One side of me really hopes I don't have to wait that long though!
Looking forward to the weresbane experiments... Author's Response: LOL It *was* sort of evil, wasn't it? I don't think it happens that often, but I'm not going to get distracted from my review responses by going to look and see. ;) I'm glad this chapter redeemed me. :D Severus has ... complicated motivations. | I'm rubbish at writing reviews (if only I had half your language skills!), but I so wanted to say thank you for the lovely afternoon I've had curled up in a cosy chair, enthralled by your story so far. I'm loving your characterisations, your carefully constructed plot, and the descriptions you use to really create a sense of being in the scene. Being reassured that the story's not only complete, but being regularly updated only makes it more enjoyable! | Random Fic has been good to me - I don't usually invest in fics labelled 'incomplete', but had to look, because the plot seemed so interesting!
I really appreciate your author notes, especially since I was absolutely captivated by this first chapter. It's so lovely to settle in for a good, long read, feeling completely confident in both the story and delivery, and I can't wait to read more! Author's Response: I'm glad to hear that random fic has been good to both of us--it's lovely to hear from another reader, especially one who likes the prologue; I know that it doesn't suit everyone (sort of a GoF/HBP opening really like it or annoyed the hell out of you thing).
