"He seemed to be angry or confrontational all the time, and she was sick of dealing with him when he was like that." We--your readers--cannot help but identify with Hermione when we read your story. I'm afraid we feel rather the same, reading the same old one-sided Severus disagreements over and over again. Basta!

Oh my goodness, this fic is wonderful!!!! I love Hermione finally getting a chance to be mad for once.

this chapter wow'ed me. it's kind of refreshing for HERMIONE to be the one angry, and SEVERUS to not be given a chance to explain himself. i mean, obviously severus isn't actually using her to live out some sick fantasy of the past, but maybe now he can understand how she feels when he jumps to conclusions without waiting to hear her out. well done.

And I 'know' that mousse was from him!!

Every time I think I just won't make it through another week, it ends up Thursday. This was a sad one, though. I cried, but I guess it needed to be done. It seems that Hermione couldn't be any worse off, and I wish she'd just spit it out already. If she would just tell him the 'whole' truth, at least there would be no assuming and mis-communications.

Both Hermione and Severus are so brilliant, yet really, unbelievably stupid at times. Why do they find it so hard to understand each other's motives? It's not that hard -- we readers get it! They love each other! They just need to tell each other.

When Hermione was thinking about the mousse and how it was good that Severus didn't like it so they wouldn't fight over it was heartbreaking. It's easy sometimes to forget that she's young, but that was such a characteristically innocent and naive way of thinking. Particularly since, as we see in the next chapter, Severus breaks her heart again.

Hermione came back because she had responsibilities. Severus has such serious issues that they have now compromised his character. He would continue to work with Hermione regarding the wards but he is too emotionally messed up to get past his anger and insecurities. Automatic lashing out is a behavior he must learn to control (at least on serious topics.) He is emotionally hurting but she fails to see it for a variety of reasons. He is a grown MAN he should have stopped her and clarified his intent. Her life with him would seem to be a continual proving ground with little emotional support. A harsh situation for a young girl. He cannot be THAT obtuse! He set the tone and boundaries for their sexual encounter yet he wants to "Be first" for her tenderness and care when he needs it Yet he dosen't want to deal with her emotional responses to his behavior or is quite possibly so relationship stunted he's unable. Petty enough to not want to be collegues (sp) . He is actually trying to open up a dialogue but THEY are in an emotional MINEFIELD. I can tell you to listen to that song by Sting called fortress. I have faith that he has the strength of character to "set the battlements on fire" ;) Here's hoping your new boss is a good and competent person. Severus Snape is needing something :p I will leave the clarification to YOU. I LOVE this story because well I just do.....My Thursdays are better because of you...for this I Thank YOU.
