Reviews for The Problem with Purity

I daresay that may have been the most stunning example of verbal irony I've ever seen. Our dear Miss Granger recognizes a "tone of voice" resembling possessiveness and jealousy from Severus but fails to recognize why said tone exists -- immediately after talking about men's emotional blockheadedness. Fabulous.

Author's Response: *grins* Yup, Hermione's got her own blind spots and those are, of course, the things that she does not recognize in herself. Thanks for taking the time to review. ^_^

I've been getting into your story slowly, but am well and truly hooked now. *Awesome* chapter, I can't wait to see the hissy fit Severus has at Hermione.

Author's Response: I know it's a lot of information to take in, especially at the beginning. I'm glad to hear that it's hooked you. You're going to have to wait a bit longer for Severus and Hermione's discussion, but it *is* coming up after Hermione and Draco's discussion. Thanks for taking the time to review. ^_^

And I just have to add:

"Do you see a herd of unicorns?"

I practically fell off my chair laughing, I love your dry wit.

Author's Response: LOL Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D

Wow. There are so many things I like about this chapter. It's taken me awhile to get around to reviewing it, I'll admit I popped over to ff.net and read it there first as I was too impatient to wait for it over here.
I love Hermione's take charge attitude. I read a review someone left for you at ff.net that made me really think on it. They thought your Hermione was Mary Sue. I totally disagree. I can understand the maturity of yours. I can remember how I felt at the age of 17, having had a very turbulent life, I was much more mature than anyone that was my age and more mature than many adults. Your version of Hermione reminds me of this - I have no trouble finding her characterization believable.
I find that this rings true for all of your characterizations, your plot is original and your pacing superb. You have inspired me to pick up my fanfiction pen again, and hopefully finish a long abandoned piece.
As always, I really enjoyed this chapter and look forward to the next. I'm in it for the long haul.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time to review; it's always a bit of a blow to get a negative review even if I disagree with (and can refute) what is being said. It's therefore very reassuring to have other reviewers coming to my defence. I don't think my Hermione is perfect (in either the Mary Sue sort of way or the perfectly-constructed as a character way), but I stand by her, and I'm glad that you do, too. There are old souls and very mature people in the real world, and I don't think it's that much of a stretch to class Hermione amongst that number. I'm really pleased that you are enjoying my fic so much, and I'm delighted that I've inspired you to start writing again! Keep it up. Sometimes it's awfully hard work, but it's so worth it in the end. *nods emphatically* Thanks again for the review. ^_^

You’ve me totally and utterly hooked up with this wonderful detailed tale. I’ve simply had to read until here in nearly one rush (o.k., with some little breaks for breathing, eating, drinking, and other little necessities of life). The story line, the whole sphere you’ve created is very fascinating. I love your Hermione and Harry, and think you’ve given them the necessary justice which they missed in DH, at least for me, especially regarding Hermione. You let her be the really clever & talented Witch she is, giving her a fabulous Animagus form, a life outside of Hogwarts. And your Harry is far more believable, with all his likable insecurities. It’s fantastic to know that there are so many chaps to look forward to. I appreciate your pace immensely, your tale has so many layers, it’s adorable. I only hope Severus (also very well done) will be a bit more lenient to Hermione, in the not-so-far future. I doesn’t assume he will be that way in the very near one…

Author's Response: LOL I'm pleased to hear that you're hooked but that you're still remembering to breathe. ;) There are many things that I love about DH, and having come, once upon a time, the end of my 600 000 words, I can appreciate how JKR was suddenly confronted with the difficult task of pulling everything together and getting to her ending. But there were definitely holes, and I think that's a large part of the reason why fanfic lives on; we want to correct errors that we perceive and write the characters into different endings. I think it's just as well that you don't expect Severus to get warm and fluffy in the near future. ;) Thanks for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. ^_^

Loved this chapter! It flowed very well and had me very nervous. I am so looking forward to all the explanations and Severus' reaction.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it, nerves and all. Reaction sets in in the next chapter. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. ^_^

Brilliant chapter :) can't wait for Severus' reaction though - both of the pure adults right under his nose! lol ;) looking forward to the next chapter xx

Author's Response: Thank you. :D Reaction is fun for *everyone* LOL. Thanks for taking the time to review again. ^_^

This was very well plotted, and the lead-up to the revelation of the secret made perfect sense all the way. Lots of tension here, both with Voldemore and the werewolves, but also looming between Severus and Hermione. I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter; sparks will fly, I'm sure!

Author's Response: I'm glad it seemed logical to you. Tension does indeed abound, and there's plenty of high-strung emotions in the next chapter. Thanks, as always, for the review. ^_^
