Reviews for The Problem with Purity

Here is what I have to say; damn all thoses people who say this story is dragging or bogged down. I want all the nit picky details, they're awesome. Also another person commented about how they believe that Severus is in love with Hermione and just doesn't get it that she is in love with him. They are just too caught up in their own feelings; I believe that too. I can see Snape all caught up in himself and not thinking about Hermione's feelings. But I would like to see them realize that and to overcome shortcomings, just like real people would. Not just love each other because we want them to but to actually see a real story behind it all as well. I think thats what you are doing and if it is keep up the FANTASTIC work!! BTW I think your moon watch sounds cool. Great update and see you next Thursday.

Yay! I woke this morning, thinking, "Alright, today's Thursday, Thursdays are awesome!" But then I didn't remember *why* Thursdays were awesome until I checked the site an hour ago and remembered, "Oh, yeah, there's a new chapter today! Woot!" lol can't wait to see the little wolf cubs. They'll be soooo cute!

I usually don't leave reviews, but since this chapter posted a little bit later than usual, I amused myself for a few hours by *reading* the reviews, and then I thought I really ought to leave one, because there are a lot of complaints that the story is slow, repetitive, doesn't have enough SS, and doesn't have the right kind of interaction. And I think they're wrong. Yeah, it's hard to wait for each chapter to come, and go weeks only guessing what idiocy SS is up to offstage, but I trust that when it is done, the pacing is going to make perfect sense. To much FF jumps to a quick resolution because the wait between chapters makes the tension seem more drawn out than it really is; those stories never read well as complete works. If I'm reading around the edges correctly, your SS *is* in love with HG, but convinced that their night together was just because she couldn't get the right response from the person she's really interested in, and he is (mostly) dealing with his own feelings in a characteristically poor fashion. They're each making assumptions about the other's actions based on things they find obvious but the other is oblivious to. And I think you're pulling it off brilliantly; I love this long, drawn-out dance, and that you've given HG plenty else to occupy her time, and made her willing to shrug her shoulders and get on with her life even under the assumption that they will never work things out. When they do come to a resolution, I suspect it will feel far more equal than it would if she were sitting around pining for him all the time. So keep up the brilliant work!

The story is great, though I do kind of agree with one reviewer about the Remus and Hermione interaction: she's just of age, and fallen in love with her snarky bastard of a teacher who has made no bones about hating her and treating her, frankly, like crap. That's a concern for anyone, especially when Remus has dealt with said snarky bastard on a far more even playing field than she has. But damn it! Update more often! Aside from that, this story is great. Also: along with your moon phase watch, you should buy this one: Planisphere Watch.

I was surprised there was no Sev in this chapter. The meeting with Dumbeldore skirted over the main issues but not in too much detail. His entire life has been changed by this episode (no more spying for Voldy). If I were him, I'd have so many questions I'd explode and I am just so surprised that he did not seek Hermione out yet. I even was wondering if Severus would ask Hermione to show him the memories of the saving so he could know exactly what happened. Needless to say I was disappointed. What in the world is he doing ? He's no longer a spy. There is so much going on, so much to do and to plan to overthrow Voldemort and he hides during the whole chapter.

I don't really know how to word this review...Usually I just glance at the other reviews, but they caught my eye this night and I read through a few of them. The gist apparently seems to be that the story is starting to drag (due to lack of interaction of SS/HG, I suspect). I object to that, though, because this story is just as much about using Pure Adult powers to do incredible things (cure lycanthropy, become magical animals, stun Voldemort and bring SS back from the dead (sort of), etc.) as it is about the relationship between HG/SS and HP/DM. That's one of the major things I love about this fic! It reads like a real book, rather than the usual series of events that push two characters together every chapter until they've fallen in love. This story focuses not only on the main two, but on the interactions between ALL of the characters (e.g. in this chapter, Hermione and Remus) in order to form a more coherent and thorough telling of events. Beyond that, I love the whole process the werewolves go through (I am a science nerd. Moon watch = AWESOME!) and am biting my lip in worry over Sophia. Hope RL doesn't get too wacky for you. :) ~SK824~ P.S. This is the uncut, unedited version of this review, so I apologize if it makes not one whit of sense.

I like this story a whole lot, but like others have said, we seem to revisit a lot of the same plot points over and over again and the SS/HG just seems to be treading water and not going forward. I'll keep reading because this is a good story, but I'd like to see the SS/HG move forward at some point.

So, before I start... I think that moon phase watch sounds awesome!! Congrats! Now, about this chapter... lol. Once again, completely amazingly written. Your genius is astounding, and completely appreciated. I'm so anxious to see Severus interation again though! Can't wait for more, and I hope the children will be okay!!
