| I've been eagerly anticipating this chapter since you said there would be a bonus chapter. Checking ashwinder numerous times per day (on average, every 10 minutes i was at my computer) Whining to a fanfic friend who knows the wait for a new chapter can be killer. I've been waiting and waiting...and finally it's here! I love not having to have waited a full week :D But just telling us there would be a bonus chapter probably boosted Ashwinder's site views a lot.
But other than telling you how evil it is to make us sit here refreshing like crazy, I have to say, great chapter. I love how both Fawkes and Castina worked in tandem to help Hermione. Because that sure was a big explosion. I love that Snape got some of what was coming to him, and I really loved how Hermione is forcing Remus and Tonks to keep quiet.
Some of my idealistic HG/SS side just continues to hope that Snape has feelings for Hermione, but believes it to be unrequited and pushing her away, so that he doesn't have to deal with the pain of not having her, when he so desperately wants to. Then again, this is also coming from the woman who continues to think what could happen in the next chapters and has Snape sneering that Hermione gave herself up to him, and not the one she wanted, and Hermione countering that she did indeed give herself to the one she wanted, and then leaving the room and Snape flabbergasted.
I'm rambling, but great chapter continue the excellent work. This is a prime example of an amazing fanfic, that doesn't need smut in every scene to be good. :D Author's Response: LOL I admit that it *is* harder on the Ashwinder folks than the ff.net ones who get story alerts whenever a new chapter is posted.... I could start lying and not telling you a bonus is coming? But then you might miss it entirely.... I guess I'm just going to keep boosting the site stats? ;) I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter and liked Fawkes and Castina's assistance. I'm not going to tell you what Severus is thinking, but I'm very glad to hear that you're still theorizing about it. ^_^ It's lovely to hear that you're enjoying the fic even without a lot of smut. | Wonderful, we only had to wait 4 days!! But seriously, I enjoyed the chapter, though I am curious about the state Severus is in - not that I have any sympathy for him. No. None. Every chapter I anticipate reading a reconciliation/explanation scene, and every time you refuse to give into my weakness. Repetition of praise from last time - thank you for keeping everyone in character, even if it does torture my imagination! Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the chapter even if you are out of sympathy with Severus, lol. 'Cause he really isn't big on the notion of discussion. He broods. And snarls. | I swear, one of these mornings you're going to wake up to the doorbell ringing and I'm just going to be standing there all creepy like, insisting on hugging and kissing you all MollyWeasleyesque. You Could look into restraining orders and all, but I still feel the need to kiss you for this gem of a chapter. Hard. On the mouth.
Everything, absolutely everything about this chapter was your usual brand of crazy wonderful. I wish there were stronger words in my vocabulary for expressing this, but as it stands, I'd probably end up cussing at you if I tried to get the point across better.
Thank you. I am rather antsy and anxious for the next confrontaion with Severus, now. All on edge and thrilled because I only have to wait a smattering of days this time. And for that I could happily molest you. (Please don't take that the wrong way.)

| Haha, ever since you alluded to a bonus chapter in Ch. 28, I've been checking Ashwinder obsessively (approximately ten times per day, to be exact), so I was thrilled when I visited this afternoon to see Ch. 29 waiting for me. I'm sure I don't need to say it, but I'll go for it anyway - another fantastic chapter! I'd been pondering what could possibly happen as a result of Hermione's 'outburst', and was very pleased to see Snape being bashed against a wall. I think it's the least he deserves. I was quite keen to see the Remus vs Severus match, actually, and Hermione was very kind in putting a stop to that (certainly much kinder than I would be in her situation). I don't think anyone could blame her for being upset and angry with Severus. I can only wonder how much longer they can go on without having the argument to end all arguments. I'm also very curious about Hermione's plans for defeating Voldemort. And we're only about halfway through! (I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I'm impatient to know what happens; on the other, after so much delicious plot and dialogue, I am thrilled to know that there is still much more to come.)
My final note: thank you so much for replying to all of us individually. That must take a lot of time and effort, and I can tell you that I really appreciate it. But equally I want to say that you don't have to! If you ever find that you just don't have the time, I can tell you now that I won't mind if you don't reply to me. And now I'll sign off. I can't wait for Thursday's installment (Thursday is also the day of my last exam of medical school, woo hoo!! Well, unless I fail one or more and have to resit. But until I get the results, optimism shall prevail!) Author's Response: I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed the chapter; many people seem to be happy about Severus being bashed against the wall. ;) The problem with the argument to end all arguments is that both Hermione and Severus think that they're very clear on what the other person thinks about them. Obviously, there's some unresolved tension (to put it mildly, lol), but Severus rarely discusses anything with anyone, and Hermione doesn't want to humiliate herself further or risk point loss and detention for something that she logically thinks is doomed (even if her heart/core/unicorn self is still clinging to hope). And it's at once daunting and exciting for me, too, to know that we're nearly halfway through. If I ever get to a point where I simply can't respond to all of you, I will be forced to give it up; as it stands at the moment, however, it's something that I am able to continue making time for because it means so much to me that you all review.
