| I’m glad Draco’s character gives weight to the “deadly serious business unfolding between Hermione” and Snape. Draco sometimes seems to be the most perceptive of the lot, proffering truths in between barbs. If he does believe Snape’s in love and not just messing around, I’m guessing his regard and realism will eventually provide critical support… maybe more so in the later acts? Or am I just taken with your Draco’s friendship for Snape? And your/Snape’s comeback about “You usually deliver much better lines than that” is pointedly funny.
Poor Lavender. I hope she doesn’t go ballistic on them later if events get more stressful; she seems to be inching towards a breakdown in her professional cool. I have a question that’s been bugging me for weeks: Hermione has not actually had sex with Ron for some time, has she? That’s what I infer (and prefer) but I wanted to clarify. Your chapter title reminded me to ask. The dress & party were inspired. Snape reading a book while a naked Miss Anne snoozes is hilarious. On the other hand, I work enough to be really, really interested in a massage oil that also makes one sleep peacefully for hours and hours; wouldn’t that be cool. Author's Response: Draco has fallen deeply in love with Ginny before this story starts, so he is settled in love with her and can see Severus falling in love with Hermione exhibiting a lot of the same symptoms he went through as he mooned over Ginny. I like to make my Draco more grown up, having come to a cold dose of reality after taking the Dark Mark (that's a whole backstory in and of itself). Severus is usally the grounded one, but in this instance, Draco is the one who keeps Severus tied to the reality of the situation. Lavender has her own problems to deal with right now. It's only to get more stressful for her. You are correct. Hermione had sex only once since her last mentrual cycle, but that will be covered in chapter 45 which is currently in the validation queue. | oh, my...this is getting rather intense...when are you going to just let the two of them admit aloud their feelings? When are you going to let him take off his mask for her? Better yet, when is she going to demand that he remove the mask, calling him by name as she does so? When are you going to update? When are you going to tell us more about Lavendar and her mystery man? So many questions...so few updates..*grin* update again soon, PLEASE??!? Author's Response: Intense? UST that you can cut with a knife and you call it intense? Naaaaaaah! Well, Hermione is waiting until the anniversary dinner before makign her final decision. Don't worry, that chapter is comign very soon (ch47). I've had chapter 47 planned in my head for months and months, so you'll see what I have in store for Hermione soon. | I am appalled that H actually thinks that a romantic dinner with her moron of a husband can mend this marriage. Okay I know its just a plot point-but still. I am anxious for her to move away from Ron. Leave him and begin her adventure with Servus. Life on the run, danger and daring all that fun sort of stuff. I think they have all suffered enough. When can we get to the happy parts? I feel sorry for the sad sacks really I do. Author's Response: Well, at the beginning, when Ron proposed the dinner, it sounded like a good idea. But in the time since he has made reservations, he has not made any other romantic overtures to convince Hermione that he really trying to woo her like he should have done years ago. Don't worry, the anniversary dinner is coming shortly and the answer we've all been waiting for will come. | |||

| ~~LOL, Draco and Ginny in cahoots, trying to figure out what Sev and Hermione are up to. I wonder how those two will take it when they find out that Severus and Hermione are in love. ~~Ron's self esteem must be at rock bottom to accept shallow friendships from snotty colleagues. I don't envy him the life lessons he will soon be learning . He's setting himself up for failure with every bad choice he makes. You would have thought being in a war would prohibit inane shallowness. And for Ron to go as far as criticizing her for being herself at the party, then kicking her out of the bedroom just to feed his control issues *Grrr*. Maybe it's time to sic Harry on him again like the time Hermione passed out from the wine. Ron needs SOMEONE to kick him in the pants. ~~~ I was a bit disappointed, though. At the end, I was chanting "Let Severus see you in that dress... let Severus see you in that dress... " ;D (Just kidding, not disappointed) Thanks for the wonderful update! Author's Response: Yep, Draco and Ginny wondering if they should be cautious about Severus falling in love or cheering him on. Ron's teammates are pretty good guys, it's the wives who arrange the dinner parties and such who are the bitches. It's the wives who send out the invites and arrange everything, while the men go off to work and earn money and have careers. I think Ron is interested in a little limelight himself. He's cautious, knowing what Harry's been put through with the press, but he wants a little of it himself now. I think Ron was shocked about Hermione's dress, as she never seemed the type to wear a dress like that EVER, so he considered it a bit out of character for her to wear something like that. | |||

| Hey! Just wanted to say that I love your story. It's amazing what you've done with the Challenge; to make it interesting, engaging and realistic (well, as realistic as it could possibly be). I wish Severus could see Hermione in that dress! Wouldn't sparks fly! And... is it Ron whose shagging Lavender Brown? That's just a random guess, but if Kingsley's a red herring, and Ron's been getting all these promotions.... Author's Response: Thanks! I'm trying for realism, so it means a lot that you say that.
