| I adore your little recipes at the end of the chapters. It leaves us with a feeling of complete comfort: A good story, lots of warm emotions and comfort food to top it all. *sigh* What to say.... this is one of the sweetest chapters! Severus in love is something of dreams, I mean, the flowers, catching himself before touching her hand, the switched words on his goodbye sentence(so funny and sweet) and his longing look at the end. I just want to take him home and pet him. Now all we need is for her to kick Ron's arse out of the picture. Hopefully with a good reason, so no one will blame her. Let's say Ron cheating on her would be lovely. hint, hint? Ok i know you will pull a JKR on us and say you have no idea about Ron cheating. Oh well, I love you for writing this story, it's probably one of the few I long for, and that actually make my day. And probably one of the very few I leave such long and rambling reviews. Author's Response: Food, wine, sex, romance and frienship. What more do we need? Yeah, Severus is pretty dreaming in this chapter. I've had to take him down this long, slow road to love, otherwise I was afraid he's come off too suddenly soft. I have no idea what you are talking about. Ron...cheating? ;-) Maybe, maybe not. We'll just have to wait and see. Glad to make your day. Hope I make it again with the latest chapter that *just* posted. | |||

| Wow. Just... wow. I'm starting to think the waiting for a new chapter is a bit dreary, it's like losing a good book I can't wait to finish, and finding it intermittently, only to lose it again.
So... yeah, I'm hooked :)
I especially love the amount of detail you put into your work, such as the meaning of the flowers - I'm sure I'd probably have some cliche boquet or nondescript centerpiece, and that's *IF* I'd even thought of that, and ... just again, wow. :) Author's Response: Glad you enjoy the detail I put into this fic. | Ah, another lovely chapter. I'm really looking forward to see how Ron screws up their anniversary...or perhaps what would happen if he treated Hermione well...which seems unlikely, but with you I never know. | I've been reading and loving this story every since it first came out, but I've never yet reviewed and said so. The guilt has finally got to me though, because this is one of the best stories I've read in this ship- the character sketches, their realistic behaviour and feelings, and the long slow build up of H and S's relationship all all superb. This is one of the stories that I directed a friend to the other day when she dismissed online FF as a venue for adults who don't have the imagination to dream up their own characters for their pornos.
One quibble I do have is that I feel you're dragging out the 'elephant' tension between S&H simply to prolong the tension, without putting in a lot of plot inbetween. It's just waiting right now, with nothing really progressing. Realistic, definitely, but not as focussed as in earlier chapters. Regardless, I really do love this story, and only intend to offer constructive crit.
Btw, did I mention my friend sat up reading this story all night, and is now a fully corrupted HP fanfictionado? :) Author's Response: Well, I have had Hermione's decision to wait until her anniversary planned out from very, very early on in the story. So I've tried to progress it so that there is a sexual attraction between them, and I wanted Severus to admit to himself that he does indeed love Hermione before her anniversary night. So by the time Hermione makes her decision to takes things farther with Severus - or not - there is very little question left regarding their feelings. Yes, there is nothing left to do but wait, but I think that Hemrione has had such a rough patch, she needs a bit of a lull. A rest before the story picks up and there is another flurry of activity, drama, emotion and angst. Can't have it all fast, fast, fast. A little sweet interlude of quiet between Hermione and Severus before everything changes. Yes, I do know what you mean, but I wanted a little bit slower pace in this part of the story. Since this is a WIP, it's harder to pace things so that the timing comes out just right sometimes too. If I wrote this all out before posting, I think I would have had Severus realized he loved Hermione, like in this chapter, the last meeting before Hermione's anniversary. My characters got a little bit ahead of schedule in their mutual attraction. I do appreciate your constructive criticism, and I sort of agree with it, but I did want a bit of angst-free sweetness and quiet between Hermione and Severus. A chance for them to settle into this new love of theirs before things change dramatically. | |||

| I think my very favorite part of this chapter is his enjoyment of dancing with her. You conveyed the feel of one of those moments in life that just takes your breath away and never fades over time. It was beautiful, and so true. They seem to be getting used to being in love with each other. I do think Hermione is wasting her time, but I really get that she needs to know she did all she could to save the marriage before leaving it. Her self respect is on the line, and it's good that she keeps her moral standards high, even though they are redundant. I wonder how Severus is going to be able to broach his request without coming across as using her. He's Slytherin, so I bet he could figure it out, but that is really the main concern right now, so much hinges on it. I have to tell you I so enjoy how you write the interactions between Severus and Hermione. I look forward to their meetings almost as much as they do. Author's Response: Yeah, I love it when they dance together. It's one of those very vivid memories that will stay with Severus for a very long time. Yes, they are settling into undeclared love. They can both feel it, but just as Hermione won't say his name, neither of them will say the "L" word to one another. Not yet. Hermione is a very noble person and really wants to see if there is anything left, though she already suspects her marriage is withered and dried as the pages of the books she cleaves to her bosom (sorry, had to quote movie!Trelawney there). We'll have to wait and see how the subject of Hermione fetching him ingredients goes. Thank you so much. | |||

| YOU UPDATED! *Does a dance* I'm so glad. I LOVED this chapter. Finally, we might have some action. It's a lovely story, but I'm so frustrated about Hermione. I keep talking to the screen, trying to get it through to Hermione that she should just cast Ron aside (I really, really can't see Ron being upset at Hermione leaving, except for his pride). Anyway, please, please, PLEASE update soon! I can't wait to read more. Are we going to read about the anniversary in the next chapter, and Hermione's decision? Lord, I hope so. Author's Response: Yes, Hermione should just chuck her principles aside and just shag Snape, but we all know how guilt ridden she would be if she did that. And then what's to stop her from fleeing and never seeing Snape again? Can't have that now, can we? The anniversary will probably be chapter 47...48 at the latest. I'm still working on chapter 46. | |||
