Hmmmmm..... my dear, I do belive you are decieving us... I wont say it openly because if I am right then its quite an important peice of plot.. but I DONT think some of what is being presented as fact, and what certain individuals are taking as fact, IS indeed fact...
to be honest I dont really want Herms to contant Severus... I think they both need reflection time..
And I think I know what that card was about to Lavender, and why she is so pissed off.. and why Hermoine has never been invited to one of those dinner parties before (something tells me Ron might of been.....) and its all related to my frist statement.

Author's Response: I know what you are say, but what you are impling, that I am insinuating...good guesses and interesting theories. But you'l have to wait and see how close to the truth you are...or how far.

What a nice surprise! A new chapter of my favorite story, up so soon and unexpectedly! I always wondered what it would be like to shop in one of those fancy, ritzy stores where they serve you wine and cater to your every whim. Alas, I don't see it happening. I'm a military wife, so by definition we are dirt poor. It was nice to experience it through your story, though. I don't think Kingsley and Lavender are together. It's too convienent. I've been wrong before, though. I love how Snape's different pastry choices and attitudes upset Draco's routine. That amused me. I'm hoping that his rune choice is prophetic. Because Snape and Hermione together are perfection and happiness. Sigh. Please, please let something happen soon. Your faithful readers out here are dying from UST.

Author's Response: Yes, I've always wondered too. I must admit to stealing the wine from "Devil's Advocate". Somehow, the idea of rich, bored housewives getting drunk and spending money like water appealed to me. Well, when I didn't have much moeny to spend on the good clothes I wanted, I learned to sew. Now I don't need to sew and I don't have the time and energy, but it certainly helped me get nice clothes that fir properly and looked good when I was younger. Only a little while longer for a little relief. Just wait.

Yes, an owl's a good idea. I keep waiting for Hermione to bump into Draco and Severus when they have their cloaks up, and now realize it's them or something of the sort. Don't they go through Diagon Alley? Ack, I can't remember. I'll have to go reread that. Anyway, I loved this chapter. Hermione has a HUGE temper, and I can't believe she hasn't told Ron "Fuck you, I'm getting a divorce you stubborn, annoying, BORING bastard! Go fuck yourself!" And then leave. But alas, Hermione's much nicer than I'd be. Then again, I'm known for my temper (curse of the red-heads, although in this case I probably wouldn't mind being angry). But anyway, you really really need to update, or I'll...I'll...never eat a cookie again. And we can't have that! PLEASE UPDATE SOON! :D

Author's Response: Well, it could happen some Friday morning...MUWAHAHAHAHA!!! Yes, they do travel through Diagon Alley, usually very early on Fridays. Hermione is a bit beaten down by life and she's just too worn out to just tell Ron to go royally fuck himself and the broomstick he rode in on. Besides...where would she go for the long term? It's not like she can afford to live on her own right now...can she? Don't worry, more is in the validation queue right now.

I hate to say it, but for me, Hermione did not come off well in this chapter. She came off as an intellectual snob and no one likes a snob. I've been to parties where you discuss the latest in plays, art, and scientific breakthroughs and I've been to parties where the discussion never evolves beyond the latest movie, gossip and kids. A socially adept person makes the effort to fit in and while it could be said that Hermione is not all that socially adept, it appears that she didn't even make the attempt and I wonder if she didn't make the attempt because she just doesn't care, about Ron or his wants. Small wonder that their marriage is in such trouble. Marriage requires effort and compromise and I suspect neither Ron nor Hermione want to bother. I guess in this chapter I'm seeing them both as selfish, maybe their couseler should bring that up. On to other matters. I'm feeling for Snape. So much depends on Hermione and her decisions. He's really risking a lot here, his heart and his, not to mention Draco's, future. I get the feeling that Moody is planning something that will land Snape and Draco in Azkaban and that time is running out. Can't wait to see how anniversary goes and Hermione's decision.

Author's Response: DING! DING! DING! Ten poins to the house of your choosing. You are absolutely correct. Hermione did come off as a bit of a snob. Hermione, after living a life meager in intellectual stimulation for so long, has gotten spoiled by her evenings with Severus. She has really aquired a taste for "adult" conversation and does not want to go back to what she views as boring, mindless chatter. But Hermioen has always imagined (FANTACIZED) that the dinner parties her and Ron woudl get invited to would be filled with interesting people doing ground breakig work, not rich people with interests on par with the hoi polloi (sports/fashion/gossip). Hermione is not exceptionally socially adept, but if she was, she would have been a more popular girl during her school days, right? Hermioen took ROn's insitance of them going as something in which she wanted something in return...namely, a good time discussing things that interested her. Remember, she bought the dress out of drunken spite. Si if she's going to go, she's going to make little consession for a man who she's already harboring resentment.

I think if they adressed their marriage when they first had troubles, Hermione would have made mroe compromises and consessions, but now she feels like she's been put upon for far too long. Thanks for the insightful review. You got the point that no one in my fic with totally blameless.

Aw. I liked it (of course). Noticing how when Hermione was off in her own world, she used 'Severus' and was fully aware of who he was, etc. Seeing an in-love Snape was cute. Many thanks to the Beta's, and of course to You! Such lovely chapters! Can't wait for even more! :)

Author's Response: Yes, Hermione now thinks of him as 'Severus' and not 'Snape'. Thanks, more is in the validation queue right now.

Tell me, is it possible that you met my husband and it's transferring his personality to Ron? LOL I don't understand how you describe the exact things he does. I mean, the husband is supposed to sleep in the couch, not the wife, and yet the same thing happened to me. That's how a jerk acts, congratulations on your precision and oh let's not forget the put downs. The way he speaks of her appearance, always criticizing. It is never good, is it? No matter what she does, Ron is never going to see anything positive on her. It's disgusting! Ok, now that I got that off my chest (you make me so emotional). I love the chapter, Severus especially, he is such a sweetie, I really feel for him, having to wait so long to have his answer. Now madame Maurelle was fun to read, I know you've described her slightly different but I couldn't help seeing her as that clothes designer in The Incredibles, i don't know if you watched that, but it made me smile. So, how long until we find out what's with Lavender? I mean, we feel there's so much going behind the scenes, and you do a wonderful job in setting the mystery. Good job with another beautiful chapter.

Author's Response: I'm sorry you got saddled with a man like that. I hope you're not with him any longer. It's scary, but I've had reviews from other women saying I'm describign their life or their marriages were/are exactly liek Ron and Hermione's. Ron has his own issues going on...no apologies for him, just an explanation that he has his own reasons for behaving the way he does.

You know, upon reflection, yeah, Madame Maurelle does kind of come off like Edna Mole. Actually, I wanted a sort of French version fo Flitwick, but a bit more gregareous. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the chapter.

I'm writing this even before I've read the chapter because I had to let you know that I heard someone squeeee! with delight when I got your e-mail about the new chapter. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I was alone. Okay, I've read it now. I turned off my soap operas so I could read. I've never been so desperate to see two people get together in my life! I understand Hermione is an honorable witch, but..... I'm sexually frustrated for her. I have an idea about Lavender's "secret friend" and I don't think it's K.S. Please, please, please hurry with updates

Author's Response: LOL. Well, hopefully chapter 45, which I just posted, will hold you for a little while longer. I'm writig as fast as I can. Thanks for all you enthusiasm.

OMG! Dude, I hate Ron! Okay, hate is a strong word, but come on! Sexy Hermoine in a sexy blackless dress that I would never be able to get my hefty ass into?! Geez! I agree with someone else's post, let's get some correspondence going on between the two of them. Start out the next chapter with Hermoine owling Sev saying how she wished she could come over to his pad (booty call in other words), couldn't because she knew he had a client, how everything went badly with Ron at the party. This is freaking awesome! I need more! No pressure, but I think you've formed the Cult of Betz and the following of the word of "And they didn't live happily ever after!" LOL

Author's Response: Yeah, but if ROn would never have expected in a million years that his wife would wear a dress that revealing,...remember his reaction at the Yule Ball? 1) that she already HAD a date, 2) That is was Krum, and 3) That she looks pretty damn hot when she cleans up. I think his reaction is that she is taunting him (and in a way she is). It's like the whole "I'll show him" attitude. And Ron doesn't take very kindly to that. There is just too much shit festering between them for the evening to happen smoothly anyway. Let's face it, if it wasn't the dress, it would have been soemthing else. Another chapter is in the valdation queue right now, so more is on the way.
