Reviews for And They Didn't Live Happily Ever After

Wonderful story so far! I can't believe I am all caught up with you. I have been reading straight through and now I am going to have to wait for the next chapter like everyon else. Darn! While I don't think Hermione and Ron is a ship that will ever see a wedding in canon, I imagine that if they did marry their relationship would turn out as you have written it. They are extremely ill-suited as a couple. Great job with this story. I am looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Yes, over 250,000 words...and it's still not finished! Rowling did say that she'll wrap up book 7 with a future forward chapter, what everyone winds up doing later on. And that gives me the chills (in a dreading sort of way), that she'll casually mention in that last chapter that Hermione and Ron are married. (SHUDDER!) And that is why I've written this fic, assuming Rowling will wind up having Hermione married off to Ron. She may think that they are suited for each other (as she has this penchant for liking Gryffindors, and has frequently stated that girls should go after the "good guys and stay away from the bad boys" ). They are her characters and it's all her creation, but I beg to differ with her interpretation that they'll live happily ever after, as I can only guess she'll end her series that way. I can only see Hermione growing ever more apart from Ron, especially with the cruelty he showed Hermione in HBP. Ron is not such a good guy, in canon. She had plainly painted Ron to be petty and vindictive at times - with the whole Lavender thing in HBP, and has shown himself to be insensitive many times. Thank you for your review. Sometimes I just get a bit aggitated knowing that she now has Ron and Hermione loosely paired up in canon now. Hopefully, she'll do something wise by the end of book 7 and have Hermione parting from Ron as a friend and going on to realize her true potential.

This was an amazing chapter. The way Ginny descibed love is right on. I've been with my husband for 7 years, and I still feel that way about him. And Hermione's fit in the bathroom- I just think that proves how deep her feelings run for him. You don't hurt that much if you don't care deeply for somebody. The part where she fixed herself up to go back into the party and pretend everything was fine- that broke my heart. I do that sometimes. I walk around with a smile when I feel like I'm dying inside. Poor Hermione. And I also think she should divorce Ron's ass now. With or without Snape, she's too good for him and she shouldn't risk spending her life in misery. Ginny could be a good confidant if Hermione would get over her shame. This is by far one of my favorite chapters.

Author's Response: (Gushes) Thank you! Hermione's fit was more due to being overwhlemed, but you are right. If she did realize she had fallen in love with "Calleo", she would not have reacted so strongly to the realization. Add on top of the Molly's little omission and Hermione feels like she's fallen into a lower circle of hell. Yes, Hermione should leave Ron, but we'll have to wait and see if a divorce is in the cards. Ginny would be a very good confidant, but there are issues why Hermione will not talk to Ginny right now.

Finally! She knows she knows she knows! I can't wait until she sees Snape again. It's getting so good. The plot is thickening, twists are being created and it's all becoming so much more complex. I love it!

Author's Response: Yes, she knows, but she has a lot of thinking to do before she sees Snape again, that's if she can even bare to go. More on the way, chapter 39 is with my 3rd and final beta.

I'm dead. ded, ded, ded I tell. *thud*

Author's Response: Passed out over the fact that Hermione *FIANLLY* figured it out or worn out from Hermione's emotional hell?

Wow. If I were any more on the edge of my seat, I'd be on the floor. This is such a fantastic fic, and that fact that I have to keep waiting for the big Hermione/Snape confrontation is killing me. But in a good way. A really, really good way :D

Author's Response: You're going to have to wait until ch41 before Hermione goes to the Red Ginseng for her Monday night appointment. More on the way soon.

Excellent chapter & masterful use of the party/eavesdropping ploy; I love it when I think I know more or less where you're taking the story but I'm surprised by key revelations and twists all the same. Poor Hermione, in love with Calleo-not-yet-Snape, having the last puzzle piece bodyslam into place. I'm biting my nails but salivating in anticipation thinking of all the different ways the next few chapters could play out before the final sorting out. No one has yet asked -will Moody's plan to conduct surprise inspections galvanize Hermione to warn Lavendar and/or Snape and Draco? galvanize her to help S/D/G escape? Or will she get caught in a compromising situation? (I hope not, that would be so cruel). Will she pull herself together before she next meets Calleo? I'm starting to hope she regains some of her strength and courage, even if she has learned that overt curiosty can back-fire. Nonetheless, the chapter ending is heartwrenching but perfect - for who she is right now in the story, that protective shell of numbness is so sad, but so in character. Will she pull herself out of this abyss or will someone or some event help her?

Author's Response: Thank you. I've never read a story that has teh eavesdropper accidentally included in a Silencing Charm bubble, but I thought it would be useful for my story. Yes, poor Hermione realizing she's in love for the first timein her life, only to have this revelation shatterede taht she has fallen for a man she finds personally revolting on a personailty level. You'll have to wait until chapter 39 and 40 to have some of your questions answered. Chapter 41 will be when Hermione and Severus meet next. Glad you find her numbness and detachment in character. More on the way. Thanks for your lovely review, they are always so good to read and savor.

Thrilling chap, this one! Witches dy when they are pregnant and leave their husband? Shocking! And so much the worse that Molly didn´t tell her that! And what do you have in mind for the husbands when they leave?
I felt sorry for Ginny because of Molly´s meddling – such an unbearable mother!

And I felt extremely sorry for Hermione – after the shock about Molly, to realize she’s in love with Calleo, and short after to realize his identity – wonderful done with the overhearing of Mad Eye and Kingsley – in that way she has the possibility “to handle” it for herself, with no witnesses - no wonder, she has a disastrous fit in the loo. Envying that she can destroy all and afterwards has only to “reparo” all – how would I like that for me, too.
Will she speak to Ginny about the whole mess the next day? I assume, she will cancel the Monday evening with Calleo because of the surprise visit – that will give her some time to come around.
I nearly can´t await your next update!

Author's Response: Yes, witches AND wizards die - depending on whom leaves whom, but that's only if there are children born from their union. So there is still hope for Hermione and Ginny, as long as neither gets pregnant. Yes, Molly omitted that little detail convinced it wasn't necessary she figures Hermione and Ron would NEVER divorce. Molly is a mother who thinks she's doing what's best. Many parents do things they think are best for their children.

Yeah, I'm pretty mean to Hermione. She learns about wizarding divorces - fully and then right after realizing she's in love, she finds out she fell in love with a man she remembers as cruel and unattractive, but part of the unattractiveness is due to how his personailty makes him unappealing to Hermione. She's dealing with some shock, but at least she has some time to think before the next Monday night. You'll have to wait and see how Hermione handles the situation and if she talks to Ginny.
