Reviews for And They Didn't Live Happily Ever After

Hi Betz, I still love your story. Even though the realistic description of Hermione's life is pretty strenuous to read at times, it's worth every minute. Just one thing: Maybe your beta(s) are a bit stressed at the moment, because there have been a little too many typos and missing words. Best wishes, Queen

Author's Response: Funny thing you should mention that, as I've been been denying myself sleep at night to write (in addition to my baby waking me up at least twice or three times a night) and my betas are both very busy with seasonal demand (foaling and school finals). We are all a bit streesed, but I'm started to get more sleep and I told my betas to take it easy for a bit. (Don't telll any of the other reviewers that.)

Author's Response: Thanks.

I am hoping Lavender doesn't recognize Pigwidgeon from Ron using her services.

I guessed your Dorian reference before I read it in your A/N. LOL Still loving the story, I could read faster, if my husband would stop interrupting...Love brioche bread, make it in a loaf and use it for pain perdu (French toast).

Author's Response: Yes, I was hoping most people caught the Dorian reference.

This chapter made me a bit horny and very hungry. Sex and food are two of my most favorite things and it seems like Snape placed a bit of himself into the spread he presented. Yummy!

Author's Response: Food, wine and sex...it doesn't get much better than that. I'd like to devour both the cassoulet and Severus myself..

My God! That was fabulous! I could rave on and on about your masterful adaptation of (canaon) Severus(s) characterization, or of the beautiful molding of Hermionie's psychie within the life she leads. But I wil save you from my inane repetitaveness and, hopefully, leave you with something a bit less irritating. Every time I read a new chapter it is like I have been allowed a glimpse into someone else's life. I know that sound silly, after all that is usually the idea behind writing, but you have taken a somewhat extraoridinary circumstance in an extremely extrordinary world and made it into an all to plausable reality. Not to mention that it is one of the most drawing works I have read in years and that done with out all the melodrama of angst, death, and rabid sex that so many others rely on, and proved that great authors don't really need them. (nothing aghanst the aforementioned, just that writing without at least one of said hooks is rarely seen even in the published literary world.) Anyway, you have my deepse regards and gratitude. I impatently await your next installitation. 'Sephone.

Author's Response: Your review is one of the most humbling I've ever read about my work. For the fact you find my characterizations plausible and the story that engaging, I feel honored you think that. In addition that you've said it's the most drawing works in 'years' flatters me to no end. Wow. But I protest, this story does have angst of the heart and of the soul. There is death, with Marge and the loss of Hermione's mentors and friends, McGonagall, Dumbledore and Flitwick. There is sex, as illustrated in chapter 3 with Draco and Ginny going at it while Hermione watches through a key hole or Severus servicing his clients, but I do not base the whole plot upon those three elements. They are merely part of a wider tale. If that's what you meant, then I say thank you. In return for your gratitiude and regards, I say thank you and you're welcome.

I am enjoying your story immensely. I also enjoy your informational urls at the end. However, I must disagree with Calleo/Severus, and the wineguy's, assertion to Hermione that Amarone is a "gentle" wine. Amarone, the meaning of which in Italian is "the big bitter" is anything but gentle due to the partial drying of the grapes, which makes for concentrated, intense flavors, not "gentle."

Author's Response: Glad you are enjoying my "little" fic. Well, as I have not tasted an Amarone, I cannot comment personally on the taste. But it is highly recomended to eat with hearty dishes like cassoulet.

Well Done!!! That's the kind of chapter length that I want you to keep writing. Your story is too good to make me beg for more. I'm glad Snape was able to see her mask of indifference. Hopefully he'll force her to share her feelings about Ron with him. Perhaps he'll tell her about his wife. It won't give away his indentity, as nobody knew of her existence anyway. But it might help Hermione trust him a little more. Make him more human in her eyes. In any case, good work on the update. Please post the next one soon. P.S. Lemons. Where are they?

Author's Response: Thank you for the lovely review! Severus was able to see her indifference as he himself knows the sign from personal experience. Severus will not reveal his wife to her...or at least he doesn't plan to. Severus will reveal himself to Hermione, and to talk about his wife would lead to her looking upon him with pity - especially onec she realizes he's Severus...he doesn't want pity. My betas are working as fast as possible, but one of my betas has finals coming up, so be patient. Lemons will be coming up in chapter 27...Oh, you mean between Hermione and Severus? That'll take a little while longer.
