I am enjoying this fic immensely, but was really rankled by the above phrase and I feel compelled to point out that wives can also be abusers and husbands can also be gold diggers. The former I am particularly concerned about because abused husbands are less likely to seek help and be taken seriously when they do because it goes against gender stereotypes. Vulnerable men need protection too, as do wealthy women.
PS - loved the Brazil reference. Great film! |
