| Wonderful chapter. I was riveted. I found your idea of his wife's death by his own hands heartbreaking. Why a terrible thing to have to do. Great job guessing so close to the canon story so early in the stories. I love this story also eagerly await more. Enjoy Vegas! Author's Response: Thank you. It is quite the soul crushing experience and explains some of his reluctance to fall in love with Hermione - not deeming himself worthy of love. Vegas has been very productive with lots of meetings. | It’s been a long time building up slowly, but now there’s one bang after the other - but only after giving H&S some days of kinda normal domestic life, with her coming to him each evening.
Finally Hermione is giving Ron a piece of her mind. But I’ve never expected you to let them inform the whole Weasley family about their divorce during a birthday party, together with Lavender to boot. What a bombshell. Molly’s reaction to Lavender was hilarious (she certainly did think at this moment about her secret visits to Eduardo), also the whole reaction of the other Weasleys to the word ‘divorce’. How the mighty fall down, down, down.
And then the bitter sweet last evening of H&S, so full of trust, so full of love, so full of tenderness, so full of sadness.
And at the end curiously the occurrence of the famous Lemon Drop – how hard do you have to squeeze this dry kind of lemons to get out one drop? Looking forward to get – some far away day – an answer to the puzzle how DD did hide the solution to all their questions in these lemons.
Wonderful chap, you do such a great job with this lengthy tale, many thanks for all the work you put into it.
Author's Response: Yeah,t the plot of this fic really takes off again, after a lull of quietude,with the Ministry's Halloween Ball. Basically, it was decided to inform the whole family at once at Bill's birthday, otherwise it would be days and days of going back and forth via owl and Floo and rumors, so it was one of those "Rip the band-aid off now quickly" sort of decisions since they were all going to be there at once. Thanks for all your praise, but this fic is far from over. Long way to go, and the long rambling path I take our characters does serve future plot points to come, but I promise it all ties up neatly in the end with a bow. | |||

| I like your Fastrada Johnson, such a common occurrence: this very capable woman working for her husband and him not getting around to file some papers and make her a Potions Mistress of her own standing. That said, it always also takes two to tango.
It’s a lot to take care of with Severus’ upcoming departure. Such a nice birthday dinner… Will they have some sort of communication together, I can’t really imagine otherwise…
Author's Response: Yeah, it's one of those where they never bothered to do the formal filing and appearance in front of the cert. board. And even if she was a Potions Mistress, her duties would remain the same since she functioned as one and brewed, but her husband was the one with the official title. As for Hermione and Severus and communication later on... just wait and see. | |||

| Such a nice romantic week end trip, finally they got around to confess their love to each other – siiiggh. Love it that Hermione is going to fight for Severus, fight for clearing his name.
And then the talk at Lavender's: she was rather straightforward and to the point with her declarations, no mincing words here.
Okay, so Ron didn’t leave Hermione because of her not earning enough, I grant him some honorable attitude here. But I also think it would have been difficult for him to be with Lavender because of his low-earning jobs. It will be far easier now having a well-respected profession of his own.
Author's Response: Yes, remember that only very recently has Ron been bumped up to first string, and Ron wasn't going ot assume that if he left Hermione that Lavender would be paying alimony. If he did ever leave her, he would be sure to have the means to take care of Lavender (even with her own career) and Hermione. But also, his mom scares the shit out of him. And yes, it is nice the Hermione and Severus get to be like two normal people and have a romantic weekend and finally feel secure enough to finally say those three little words.
