Your fic is so amazing I am really big fan of yours! I'll never forget some of the scenes in your fic which include Severus and Hermione.... You are so inbeliavably good!

| I really love this story. It's definitely my current favourite, and it's definitely earned a permanent place on my top 5
There are parts of this story that I wholeheartedly identify with, and that makes it that much more enjoyable. It's great to read something and go "Man, I've been there before" and get the sense that the author really does understand the emotions and motivations behind some things - as opposed to sitting there feeling lost wondering how and why we got from point A to B via the Holland Tunnel.
One of the things I truly enjoy about this story is that it works outside the HG/SS ship. (Hoping not to start an argument with this, but I'm in the camp that agrees the pairing's utterly unlikely, but it's still fun, or I wouldn't read it, right? :D) So many of the fics I've read in various fantasy settings fall short of touching on real life situations and incorporating that into the chosen fantasy world. I'd personally much rather read a story that focuses on "natural" human interaction in the HP-verse than some of the "quasi-enforced" interactions anyway :)
And... I'm rambling.
In short, I love your work. It's great. I check for an update daily (sometimes twice daily), and while I was in hospital for bronchitis, I was pestering my friends - "Hey can you check this site, please please please" - and now for the most part they think I'm a freak ("OMG HP adult fanfic??!") - but ... I did manage to get one of them addicted as well! :)

I want to show the long slow progression of how and why Severus and Hermione become attracted to one another instead of - BOOM! "Hey, she/he is kind of cute and not so annoying, I want to shag her/him now." I'm glad you find some realism to the interactions in my fic, as I'm really striving for that. I want it to feel like we get to watch real people interact. Glad to see you are out of the hosiptal. Hope you are well now. | |||

| Maybe I'm just a woman of my times (and I feel Hermione is also) but I would be too quick to tell Molly to fuck off (and in those exact words). The scary thing about this story, Betz, is that I truly believe that is the way JKR has made Ron and Hermione should never have traded her brilliance for family. Of course, this from someone who is anti-marriage and kids, so I'm jaded and so are my opinions. Good job with the descriptions. Author's Response: Yes, we all should tell people like Molly to just mind her own fucking business, but you have to remember that people sometimes act differently when dealing with family. I'm a normally very outspoken person, but when it comes to dealing with my family, I keep my mouth shut a good portion of the time as I don't want to stir up trouble and cause grief that other family memebers will resent me for. As my father so aptly puts it, you pick your friends, but you don't get to pick your family. And you are stuck with family for the rest of your life, so Hermione knows in order to have a more harmonious relationship with Harry, Ginny and Ron - as well as the rest of her in-laws - she tones down her retorts to Molly. As my one brother said, you don't just marry the person, you marry the family as well. | |||

| One of the things I love most about this story is the realism of your portrayal of Ron and Hermione's marital problems. This chapter really hit that point perfectly once again. Neither party is to blame, or both are equally to blame. They both want to save the marriage, but mostly because of their past and because neither one wants to admit defeat. It seems to be really hard for either of them to see anything in the marriage that is worth saving at this point. And, of course, the little things that Hermione just can't tune out anymore, but keep grating on her nerves until she wants to scream. I think I'm rambling a bit here, because I'm not really sure why this seems so realistic, but you've really nailed it!
Thanks so much for the extraordinary effort you put into this story. It's certainly appreciated! Author's Response: I've seen enough bad marriages to have an inkling of how they can go wrong. And yes, you are quiet correct. Hermione is not entirely blameless. She gets her digs in now and then, and can be petty too at times, like us all when pushed. She could have gone the saint route and not entertain cheating on Ron with Severus. Neither of them wants to be the 'bad guy' and leave the marriage, especially since Wizarding society would probably villify *that* person. Maybe it seems realistic because you know people who have kept trying to stay in a relationship that was long past it's code date and had already spoiled. Glad you are enjoying this fic so much. | |||
