| Very steamy. LOL I love that she doesn't want to believe it's him. I really thought the charade was over when she was touching his face; but I guess she wants to hold on to the fantasy a little longer. The kitchen scene was just...hot. LOL I always associate patchouli with Severus, so it delighted me that you used it. I can't wait to see what happens next. You're very talented, hardly a day goes by that I don't check to see if this has been updated or not. I love this story!! Author's Response: Yes, I was going for the stifling hot sexual tension. It seems I have achieved that based on your feedback. Yeah, Hermione is having a major case fo denial. It's hard to believe you have the hots for a man you found repulsive a few years back, especially one who is significantly older than you. Yes, patchouli is such a sensual scent, that I think it exudes manliness, like Severus. It's what men smell like, not boys like Ron. | I just realized that Hermione literally blindfolded herself, just as surely as she is figuratively blinding herself to the truth - about her marriage, etc. Of course, you is a smart author, so you already knew that.... Author's Response: I'm so glad you picked up on the symolism of the blindfold. She doesn't want to see what is plainly before her face, and also the blindfold will help her see in a way she hasn't before. Smart author? I dunno. Lucky author? Okay, I'll buy that. | |||

back to chapter 34:
i wonder, did macnair never got suspicious why lavender would offer him of all people this opportunity. my guess is that either he never realised what he actually did to these girls, that there where too many victims, that he can't remember their faces or for him maybe they don't even had any faces. whatever it is, macnair is really sick and I AM glad that you didn't discribe it, for that chapter was disturbing enough.
blaise impressed me in this chapter!
i assume that he was frightened like hell, he surely doesn't had this portkey for no reason and never the less he helped lavender to escape with HIS "one way out". i don't know if he disliked her back then, but they weren't friends. i can't see many people do, what he has done, you need a kind of courage for such things that is rare. and just imagine what would happend if they would be caught!!
i admit it, i'm just so touched by this chapter.
luckily i only can imagine how severus must have felt in this situation. to know the way someone react is totally stupid but you can't do anything to stop it, is something i am very familiar with!
his dream of the past, well i do know that selfpreservation is very strong drive, but since i'm a mother i really am torn and can't decide what my opinion is.
i adore lavender, she survived with her sanity! i am sure she has to cope with repercussions, but it's so clear, she has such a very strong personaltiy!!
if you mix together my worst colleagues (which drives me mad regulary) you're not even close to mr. spawn. so hermione has all my sympathy. but i love her barrage of abuse when it comes to him so i guess i like him in STRANGE WAY. is it a coincidence that his given-name is travor like that infamous toad of neville?
this chapter is so full of emotions!
there are severus and lavender, lavender and kingsley with the curiosity of a severus snape! hermione and snape, hermione and ron! i am so nosy about how she will solve her thursday problem.
but somehow i've the feeling, that maybe she won't have to explain anything.
can't wait till the next chapter is up, it is such great story
bye risa ;o)) Author's Response: Macnair wanted to keep his ass out of Azkaban at all costs. Lav made it perfectly clear what she could beat him as part of the deal. He was a chickenshit, and that's why he wanted to stay out of prison. Don't worry, he waven't heardthe last of Macnair in this story. More on him in upcoming chapters. And Macnair knew exactly what he did, chalking it up to free license by the Dark Lord to terrorize blood traitors. It could be he doesn't remember what he did exactly to Lavender and Parvati, but it is within his comprehension that they were possibly once victims of his. I did note on my read count on my account page that some people have skipped 34 - which is what I expected. Yes, Blaise did have a Portkey for a reason, more on that in upcoming chapters too. Glad you like my version of Lavender. Up until her kidnapping, she is very much like the canon Lav we all know, but the Rookwood dungeon incident changed her to be the woman she is now in my story, still a bit fragile underneath, but a bit of a cool, calm, hardened shell on the exterior from her experiences. It's not to say she isn't warm, it's just that she has learned to be more dispassionate and less emotional when dealing with the world at times. She has matured, like most women do. A 23 year old is not the same as when she was 17 years old. I did intend for Trevor Spawn to have the same name as Neville's toad, because he's such a slimey little toad. I thrills me to no end that you are still enjoying this story so much. | |||

| I don´t believe that Kingsley is Lav´s lover – my theory is that he´s looking for Blaise by order of Lav; he has probably hidden himself because of the “Death Eater Law” and she wants to help him for her rescue, or perhaps they were already lovers… ?!?!? The nervous anticipation on H&S parts makes me feel the same … Looking forward with great excitement to the next (up) date … Author's Response: Blaise works as a gigolo on the fifth floor at the Red Ginseng, more on Blaise in chapter 40. Remember Severus recommended Mrs. Nettleton go start seeing Blaise for vartiety, so he wouldn't have to shag her anymore? Yeah, screaming-rabbit woman. | |||

| It took a while to catch up; now I'm eagerly waiting for those queues to put your things through so that the next chapter comes that much sooner. I think this story got even better than I remembered leaving it, which is saying a lot since I remember it being very good. I've been enjoying the dancing lessons and all the character interactions taking place throughout. I'm afraid instead of your recommended listening all I could hear was Peggy Lee's "Fever" that I learned the foxtrot to (and which I would highly endorse if you were taking recommendations), but other than that I had no trouble vividly viewing, hearing, smelling,etc. the scenes you created. Author's Response: It got better? Thanks! If "Fever" is what you heard, then "Fever" is the song that inspires the sensuality you should feel when reading that chapter. My song recommendations are merely suggestions to enhance the mood, not law. So glad you came back and have been enjoying yourself. | |||

| So, it only took 35 chapters for Hermione to realize her marriage was unsavable *winna rolls eyes sarcastically*. I loved the bit about Ron & Hermione hexing each other during counseling. I am now looking forward to Hermione discovering just who Calleo/Snape is... Author's Response: Hermione is a stubborn girl. To admit that her marriage is unsalvagable is to admit she failed at something. It's bad enough to admit to herself that she has not attained her career goals by this point in her life and that it seems everyone has a better marriage and sex life than her, but to admit her marriage is beyond the point of trying is to admit failure. And we all know how Hermione deals with failure. | |||
