And again you don't disapoint me! Great chapter! I liked it really much, the parallel description of Severus' and Hermione's lives are so interesting to read! I am very happy now, you made my day! As always waiting with anticipation the next chapter.

Author's Response: Glad I didn't disappoint you and that I made your day. More is on the way, chapter 45 is in the queue.

What a great bonus, I somehow missed the last chapter, so I ended up with two to read. Excellent as always. Wow, Severus in love. And do I wish there was a store like Madame Maurelle Mandel's House of Haute Couture in reality (though I would imagine I wouldn't want to pay those kinds of prices for a dress since I normally don't buy designer fashions now), but it would be nice to find dresses that fit (and flatter) when you try them on.

Will Severus get to see her in the dress - hmm, almost like The Thong from Dances - or is that just wishful thinking? While I've never like Ron all that much, his attitude is so annoying (which is exactly what you're aiming for, I'm sure). My advise? Dump Ron, run off with Severus, and spend a few weeks in bed catching up already. Well done, as always, my dear!

Author's Response: Kindest thanks, as always. Yeah, I wish I could just have a store like that to go to, but I don't want to pay those prices either. Hmmm, I need a really good seamstress. Yeah, I saw that illustration of Hermine in "The Thong" HUBBA-HUBBA! Now if I could just get Melanie to draw Hermione in the dress...maybe is Severus does get to see Hermione in it I can beg another illustration off of Melanie.

I did use paragraphs in that review, but Ashwinder decided to eat them!

Author's Response: I believe you. You have to type < br > < br > (no spaces) to make a paragraph break.

Since I've been following this fic for ages, I'll explain why I love it. 1. A plot I can realte to. While not married, I have always let myself be pressured into doing the "sensible" thing and am starting to realise I want a bit more adventure in my life or I'll die of boredom. So great story. 2. Intelligent use of post-war climate. Most post 7th year fics have a very token explanation of how Voldie was disposed of, and it invariably makes me cringe when too much attention is drawn to it. Usually because it's something simple and tacky that ignores and cheapens most canon. You've drawn more attention the after-effects which you can write about very well. 3. Use of non-canon magic. Another device overused as a token which rarely works, but your idea of having children being like an unbreakable vow is genius and one of the rara occasions when something like that invented by an author didn't make me cringe. 4. Lack of death eater cliches. A large focus on long, gory and sensationalist explanations of what happens in death eater meetings (except when parodied) are always badly written at worst incompatible with canon nd at best with no basis in it. Thankfully you haven't done that, the few mentions of DE activity have been well-written. 5. (this will make me unpopular) Lack of excessive lemons. I'm no prude, and don't need to wash my eyes out with soap when I stumble across PWP, but when a story has chapters and chapters of perfect sex it usually gets very samey after about 2 sentences and I get very bored. Where you have written about sex it's been relevant to the story and not just pages of bad filler. One or two small cliches used in the story that aren't quite to my personal taste, but they're barely even worth mentioning as I love almost everything about this fic!

Author's Response: You have to live for yourself. While I have tried to live my life without regrets, sometimes you have to take chances and do things now that you might regret not doing later. I think Hermione is starting to wake up to that reality. Thanks, yeah, I am trying to keep things very vague about hwo Voldie dies, since we won't know until book 7, so I'm trying to keep the possibilities open so that other people can fill in teh gaps. Since I started writing this, HBP has come out and totally AU'ed my fic, but it's not too bad. Draco and Severus are prosectued still in the end. I tried to use non-canon magic as little as possible, but since I read about Tom Riddle's mother dying right after child birth and his father casting him off, I couldn't help but think that there was some sort of magical property involved with children. It was nice that HBP sort of supports my fanon use of that plot device. Yeah, Death Eater stff can get rather gory, and what I put in, I wanted to keep minimal. And regarding the lemons, well, let's jsut say the second act of this three act story will have TONS of lemons. But trust me, it won't be perfect sex. Your review is truly lovely and makes my heart go pitter pat. THANK YOU!

I love that your chapters are long and well thought out...I hope Hermione wears that dress to her next meeting w/ Snape. My favorite part, geez, so many! I loved the whole shopping scene...Ron tossing Hermione a pillow...Snape going off on Lavender...but the best for me was Draco discovering that Snape is in love and then keeping that information to himself for possible blackmail !

Author's Response: Kindest thanks. Yeah, the shopping scene was so fun to write. I really liked writing Snape and Lav fighting, as both got kind of screwed in teh end and neither really won that fight. Yep, Draco is still pure Slytherin. Like Severus would do anything less if the positions were reversed (and he did rib Draco a lot when he was filling on love with Ginny).

First, I love the the name Amphegoria (nice tribute to Gorey, perhaps?) Second, I love the way Severus revealed to Lavender that he knows more than she's letting on. Meanwhile, things with Hermione and Ron are just going from bad to worse, aren't they? Are those eleven days going to pass quickly (please, please, please). Whoever is going to be Severus' third client? Looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Yes, a tribute to Gorey (Grim Tinnies makes me laugh till my sides hurt). Yeah, Severus just loves laying it on and having people just in shock. Stuns them then goes in for the kill. Yep, Hermione and Ron are just fighting against the flow of it. Don't worry, you'll find out about Severus' new client soon enough, much to teh chagrin of Seveus....MUWAHAHAHAHA! >:)

This chapter gave us a lot of catching up with the “peripheral” characters to the story. I like that the events here move much faster than the meetings between S and H (if we could freeze time during those meetings ah! Wouldn’t it be fun!) I thoroughly enjoyed the altercation between Severus and Lavender. She has ruffled his feathers with her scheming. While he accepted it before now he is reasserting himself. He is very protective of Hermione and the regard he holds of her seeps through. I’m sure Lavender will figure it out soon (unless she already knows.) “I was a spy for the Order before you were an impulse in your father's libido!” is a line that has rendered me speechless.

I’m not sure what is the deal with Ron but I get a feeling he is not having an affair –yet. I can’t see him pulling this off without Hermione noticing. Perhaps she doesn’t care anymore to notice but the fact that he too is trying a ‘last minute’ salvation gives me these ideas. On the other hand the lack of sex (per carthmorgan’s comment) points the other direction. Hmmmm…

Author's Response: Yeah, there's a lot more going on that Hermione and Severus itching to get into each other's pants. I think you can safely guess that Lav knows that Severus has a bit of an affection towards Hermione. I like writing Severus and Lav's fight, both got good barbs in and both walked away with some scraps of their own. Glad you enjoyed that line, I tried to find something the equivalent to - but a little more elegant than - "...before you were an itch in your father's pants."
