Reviews for And They Didn't Live Happily Ever After

Would you be angry if I said I want to slap Hermione? I really cringe every time she she says shagging Snape is repulsive, even if she still desires him. I just want to shake her, really. Aside from that, I'm really happy you've updated and I'm really glad things are moving. I wonder if she realizes that while Snape was very cruel to her before her wedding, he was actually making a compliment... I mean, some may see it as a cruel remark, I see it as a compliment on her intelligence and that she deserved much better, maybe almost like begging her not to do that. I dare say he even cared or at least admired her even then... no? Then maybe I'm seeing too much. Of course she know he's right, but it's not only that, he cared enough to warn her... anyway, I can see how conflictive it all can be, and I'm glad she admits to being a hypocrite, because it all seems very vain to not want the guy after she finds who he is.

Overall, I can see why she reacts like that, but I can also see how much it would hurt Severus if he knew what was going through her mind. I hope she finds a way to help him with the Ministry thing, but I'd hate to see her make a charade out of it. Now that she knows, to keep pretending she doesn't... it's just so not Gryffindor LOL. And there's the fact that she promised him she would give him an answer on Monday, whether she wanted to take things further or not. I fear it will crush him if she doesn't. Poor thing. I just feel for him. Bah! your story just makes me too emotional. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: No, your desire to slap Hermione is normal, but remember, she remebers him as a loathesome man who was cruel to her and made a lot of derragatory remarks. She just needs some time for her mind to adjust that he's not a monster, but just a man who bleeds, feels and has desires like everyone else. Hermione doesn't view Snape's remarks as a compliment, but as a source in which to ridicule her for her poor choice. At the time, Snape just saw a young woman about to embark upon a life changing event that she would most probably regret - and Snape has his own less than rosy personal experiences when it comes to marriage to color his opinions. He didn't have a choice, Hermione does.

Yes, Hermione will try to behave just as she did knowing that to treat Snape differently would be hypocritical, but cruel. To finally give that man some sincere affection, only to reject him upon learning who he is, she knows would be cruel and would hurt his feelings. The Ministry part of the story is a slow, long term plotline that willb e developed along the way. Hermione will pretend to not know it's him, she's being selfish, as this is the one thing she has that keeps her going. Her nights at Snape's is the only bright spot in her otherwise bleak and depressing life. More is on the way.

I think I say this with every chapter, but I loved this one...I love Hermione's inner dialogue...you've kept her true to herself (your Hermione's self, does that make sense?). Anyway, the part where Bill talks to her...WONDERFUL! He doesn't allow her to respond to his comments...just leaves her with food for thought. You can just sense how trapped Hermione feels when surrounded by all the Weasley's... I love how Hermione has worked through the connections (Ginny, Lavender, etc)...and who is she meeting at the Three Broomsticks, well I have my suspicions. Two things I wanted to comment on, first, I'm glad you didn't make Ron hateful...he's just not Hermione's type (we all know that!) and second, I'm glad you made reference to the fact that Hermione never knew Snape as anything other than a professor and Order member...until meeting w/ Calleo...I think that's part of the reason she is going back... well look at me, I'm just rambling on... keep up the good work and I'll be looking forward to your next update.

Author's Response: I so glad you enjoyed this chapter so much. It's nice to hear she remained somewhat canon. Yeah, I liked what Bill said to her. You are right, Hermione does feel trapped, esecially with visions of herself nursing Ron's child. Ron is not intentionally cruel to Hermione, but he does say and do things that hurt Hermione. Yes, Hermine will dwell on the fact she never knew Snape other than an authority figure and distant Order member. Your ramblings are the sort of review authors cherish, so don't stop yourself, they are wonderful. It's nice to know you pick up the little details.

As Frede and George were able to set up a small business with a thousand galleons from Harry, assuming they had a similar amount of cash, in the real world to set up a small business you would say need around £75,000 ($125,000). This would give a purchasing power parity exhange rate of 1 galleon to £35 or so, rather than the 1:7 figure you are using. Just kidding! Great story.

Author's Response: Actually, according to hp-lexicon's currecy converter, http://www.hp-lexicon.org/wizworld/galleons.html, it's 7.33 U.S. dollars to the Galleon, or an even 5 British pounds to the Galleon. So that wouldbe $7,330 dollars or 5,000 pounds. Thank you, glad you're enjoying it.

Yay! I'm glad to see you've updated for the weekend (I've not much time to go online during the week lately) so I've had something good to read while I drink my coffee. So...who's she going to see? ? I hope you update soon again, I can't wait to read more. You're doing a great job with this story - keep up the super work. :)

Author's Response: Well, it's nice that I can keep chapters coming at about one a week. You'll find out next chapter who Hermione went to see. Thanks, I hope I keep you entertained with my story.

Hurrah! I'm always glad to see a chapter of '..Ever After'. I really like how Hermione argued with herself. I think the way you wrote that held true to her character.

Honestly I can't WAIT for the next chapter. Confrontations, steamy scenes and slapping of Ron seem to await the reader, no? ;)

Author's Response: So pleased you are anxious to read more of my fic. Thank you, I'm glad you felt I kept Hermione in character with her inner musings. You'll have to wait until chapter 41 before Hermione sees Snape again. Sorry, but there are some things that need dealing with in chapter 40 first.

I do like this chapter. Now, Hermione has understood she can't saty with Ron forever. And she thinks now she could run off with Snape. It's excellent !

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed this chapter. We'll have to wait and see what Hermione thinks on the matter of leaving Ron. There area lot of issues that have to be dealt with first.

Yeah, we have the beginnings of Hermione thinking of running off with Snape.

Author's Response: Yes, the seed of the idea is there, but the question is, will she do it when the time comes?
