Reviews for And They Didn't Live Happily Ever After

I'm so happy you posted another chapter, you made my day. It was beautiful, just like all the others. The change in Severus is incredibly endearing and I'm falling in love with his character all over again. I'm sorry, but I've just got to get this out: Awwww! Okay! I'm done, I'm done, I promise, no more prepubescent outbursts. Thank you for putting so much work and effort into this story, and also similarly to your betas. You all produce an execellent piece of writing, and I can't wait until the next installment. Although, will there really be three more meetings? I don't know who to feel sorry for more, Hermione and Severus or myself for all the sexual tension.

Author's Response: Glad I made your day. Hopefully I'll make your day again soon, as I have another chapter in the queue. Yes, Severus has become quie loveable. I want one of my own to cook and moon over me. Thanks for the kind review. Yes, just how much more UST can we stand?

This is a very sweet chapter and a long, lovely read. As always the dialogs – internal and external – are satisfyingly complicated yet always advance the plot despite many hanging thought lines. It took him three days to figure out she hadn’t called him by either name?! We noticed right away, attentive readers that we are, but I guess he has a good excuse. If she decides to call him Severus before he takes off his mask, she’ll certainly take his breath away. She seems like she might be getting bold enough; will she? It’s very sad about Gabrielle’s death. It’s a fair question; he did fail her. But as with all major mistakes, going forward and trying to do right by others while not forgetting your mistake is often the only moral path. Unless you know something we don’t. Ron and Hermione’s interaction is very well balanced and puts the conflict in some perspective; they both seem like they are trying, especially H… But at the end of the day, she’s not in love with him and barely respects him despite their limited success to improve. It seems like you’re not going to give her or us an iron-clad reason to hate him, you’re going to make her leave him as a fully rational adult. What a concept… and I was so hoping he would flame out! Wonderful details; your writing is an immersion into literal detail. And the blue salvia was more complimentary than almost any other sentiment could have been. However, I’m about to start begging for UST relief soon…or something! Three more meetings!?!?! That usually means 6 more chapters! I can’t take it. Of course, you might make the wait seem worthwhile for reasons yet unknown to us, but I am begging. I didn’t even notice that he mixed up his words until the end of the chapter. We’re all a little besotted.

Author's Response: Thank you, you always leave such lovely reviews. Yes, it did take him a while to realize she had not used his name. (HINT-HINT) More questions about Gabrielle, but I can't tell you anymore than what has been divulged in the story so far. You are correct, it is only the obligation of marriage that seems to keep them together at this point. Yes, the flowers were a nice touch, it certainly affected Hermiione in just the right way. And you won't be waiting six more chapters. Severus has admitted his love for Hermione to himself and Hermione has come to grips that she loves Severus and not her husband, so things will speed up a bit over the next few chapters and we shall reach the anniversary dinner in chapter 47...or chapter 48 is I can't get everything crammed into ch46 I hoping for.

Wonderful chap, you can simply lean back on the chair and enjoy it! Very recreative after all the ups and downs of the preceding ones.
It’s enticingly how Severus comes to accept that he’s in love with Hermione – also nice to meet DD and McGG again. I like his nervousness, his fretting about the right choice of flowers, his longing to touch her. And the very best is the disorganisation of his last sentence to Hermione, as well as his reaction when he realises what he said before.
It’s also a relief to see Hermione coming around – now she’s used to think “Snape”, she even tries “Severus”, not one time she is thinking “Calleo”. In my opinion she’s even very bold with her teasing him in the kitchen (btw, “Italian” would have been a better guess that “German”, because it is more similar to the French cooking), and I simply love her quip that he’ll make a good little housewizard one day.
We also have a new “time line” for the story – she will wait until her anniversary before she’ll decide if she’ll let go things further with Severus. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’ll have to wear his mask until then, or?
As every time I look forward intensely to the continuing of this story.

Author's Response: Leisure reading? Cool! Yeah, I thought I'd give Hermione a break and just let her wallow in Severus' love for her. She needs a little TLC and quiet before all hell breaks loose again. Yes, a man newly in love is not the most confident person. She could have guessed Italian, but she was a little flustered. Wouldn't you be after being so tempted for another bump-n-grind session with a burning hot hunk O' man like that? Severus has already made a vow to himself to no longer wear his mask after Hermione's anniversary. Thank you for your enthusiasm and wonderful review.

Lovesick!Severus is adorable, I'm loving it!! This story is wonderful, I quite literally shrieked with delight when I saw it had been updated. You are a very talented writer, and I love all your A/Ns!! I look forward to more, this is an amazing story

Author's Response: Well, don't shriek at work. They might start wondering what the hell you are looking at on your computer. Thanks and more is on the way with another chappie in the queue right now.

“Illusion Is the First of All Pleasures” Oscar Wilde?

Author's Response: GinnyW, one of my betas, came up with that title. She said Voltaire was the first one to say it, but Wilde may have borrowed it too.

I adore this story, for the different peices of knowledge you put in, for the slow, addictive yet not too agonising passage towards the ending. For always keeping us guessing! Mostly for making it so real! Thanks! Eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Author's Response: Thanks, glad you are enjoying the slow ride to sexual tension-ville.

Wonderfully written chapter, as usual... and I love the recipe you listed at the end (will have to try that sometime soon). The tension betwwen them is, as always, palpable, and I can hardly wait to read more... but, waiting is necessary, and I'm comfortably settling in for the long haul. :) It's funny, I can hardly stand waiting for updates, but I don't think I'll enjoy it at all when you finally end this story- it's become so engrossing that I never want it to stop! Thanks so much for sharing your imaginative mind with the rest of us!

Author's Response: I'm glad the tension has that palpable quality about it that you enjoy. Don't worry, there will be plenty more story to come. This is one bugger of an epic I've started.

FANTASTIC. Lovely. Stomack churning (in a good butterfly way)...Hmmm what else can I use to describe what I just read??? there are not enought words in the English language, or Greek or any other language I know. Now I am antisipating the next three meetings cause on that thrid one I will get to read all about Hermione's reaction to Severus' unmasking. What a temptress you are. Still, I cannot deny that I will be wanting to analyse the other chapters that come before it. The spa one most. Severus and Draco go to that spa but as I read it in the last chapter with the spa they only go one a month and I cannot decide if a moth has passed from that last time or not. Oh well thats you're problem I suppose if you want Severus to be there at the same time as Hermione and Ginny. Ohhhh wouldn't it be interesting if Severus decided to dress as one of the people that does the massages and decides to give himself and Hermione a treat by giving her a massage. *Stops dirty thoughts* oh sorry my imagination can get the better of me when it comes to a very realistic Severus and Hermione in the peak of Sexual Frustration/Tention. Greatfully antisipating the next chapters and keep up the fantastic work.

Author's Response: Oh, there are words, but we just don't feel like hauling out Oxford's Unabridged to find them. That is one damn big dictionary! Yes, Severus' unmasking. I can't tell you how I'm looking forward to finally writing it, as I've had it written in my head for the past several months. What a relief it will be to exorcise that little scene from my head. It has been a month since they've gone...about. I mark everything in a 2003 calendar to keep the dates and timeline correct in this fic. If I had the paper in front of me, I could give you the exact date of the July visit and the exact date of the August visit. I won't say anymore, as I think you are reading my mind as I write this story.
