| me again :) This is a response to your response. Hope you don't mind. You have very successfully managed to evade answering whether this story ends with a "happily ever after" or not. I commend you for that. You almost, almost had me there. But I understand you might not want to reveal that. With most SSHG fics, you can tell that they are defiantly going to be happy endings. And then there are some obviously unhappy ones like "Not a happy tale" (read it; it's short and good, but very sad). And then there are fics like yours. You can't tell. Hermione has obviously thinks of Snape as a very rigid character that is unlikely to change. If she ever realizes that what he did as Calleo was not entirely pretending, and they do get together, I still see complications in their staying together (i.e. Hermoine's apprenticeship, too many people disappearing leeding to suspision etc.) But on the other hand, I can't see them not together either. They obviously like each other a lot, and both are constructive to each other. Warning Ron trashing ahead: Ron is just too destructive for Hermione as she is for him too. He is too into quidditch for a girl like Hermoine to appreciate. And that Hermione snogging Viktor thing. OH MY GOD! What was THAT? You never declare your intentions and expect the girl to just wait for you forever? Instead of saying something and clearing the air, he stops talking to Hermione and goes sticks his tongue down the throat of the first willing girl. UGH! He disgusts me. And I agree with you on the Ginny thing as well. How long should she wait? She's been waiting since she was 11. But Harry and Ginny are not as hopeless as Ron and Hermione. That is just set up for a disaster if they ever end up getting married. Okay, that's it for now. Until next time. Author's Response: Of course I can't tell you the ending. That would take out all the mystery, suspense, angst, surprise and hope when reading my fic. There's nothing like seeing a movie for the first time when everything surprises you. Still can't tell you how it will end, but I like how you keep an open mind that it might turn out happy...or not. Yeah, while Severus is pretending to be Calleo he can be the sort of person he sometimes can't let himself be as Severus. Understand?We'll have to see if Hermione can make the transition from Calleo to Severus. I heartily agree on the Ron thing. How thick can you be? She does out with him when she's 15! What 15 year old girl doesn't snog an 18 year old boy? Geeze, Ron can be so stupid and vindictive at times. | |||

| Lovely chapter(s). Hermione is in denial, and I'm interested to see what she does when she finds out it is Snape. You played the sexual tension between them just right, and Hermione's reluctance to go any further is very like her. I was surprised that Snape was that desperate, but well, I'm sure good conversation is hard to come by. Oh, and from my experience with Romance languages (5 years of Spanish and 2 of French) plenty of words tranfer from language to language, or are very similar in both; and well, on occasion I've mistaken Italian for Spanish, so, they're all very similar. Author's Response: Hermione will figure out it's Snape soon enough and she will deal with it as anyone who suddenly realized they had been lusting after a much older man with a dispicable and cruel personality - or so she remember him as cruel and despicable. Yes, Hermione is not sexually confident or adventurous, so she's not about to do something she is unsure of. Snape was desperate, because being physically aroused in order to fuck a clinet is not the same as being emotionally, mentally AND physically turned on at teh same time. The mind is the largest sex organ and Hermione is turning him on like he has never been turned on before. | |||

| Great chapter - I love how you conveyed the denial Hermione's sort of entered at this point in regards to "Calleo's" true identity. I also appreciated the phrasing and structure you used . . . it fit very well with the atmosphere of the chapter - the tension and anticipation between the two characters.
As for the romance language bit - I speak Italian fluently and quite a bit of Spanish, and have a French-fluent friend . . . we often have conversations with each other in our respective language of choice, and are able to understand each other rather well. So I'd have to agree with your prof, sort of . . . :-) And yay for Greek being useful, although I'm versed only in Modern.

It's very tricky, because a part of her mind is coming to grips with the truth, but her conscious mind does not want to admit it's Snape at all. So glad you agree with my professor's assesment of the linkage between Romantic languages. | |||
