I love Poppy! She has seen so much in her years at Hogwarts. And she knows where "all the bodies are buried." but in this case she ain't tellin'. She has seen how Dumbledore has used Severus and manouvered him into doing so much that causes pain, and I think she is happy to see him and Hermione are now taking care of each other.
I was happy for Severus that his got revenge on Dolohov for his cursing Hermione and killing her parents. How sad it is for her that she is now orphaned through such despicable acts on the part of the Death Eaters. Voldemort's obvious enjoyment of the predicament Snape found himself in when he summoned him really gave me chills.
I hope Dumbledore can curb his desire to talk to Severus until both Severus and Hermione have rested for as long as they can. Honestly, they need to be with each other more than Dumbledore needs to speak to the Potions master.

| Good Lord! This entire chapter has worn me out. I swear there are so many places in it that I found myself holding my breath and fearing the worst!
Sirius' horrid personality was at its most horrid here. I couldn't believe he was going to rape Hermione in his Animagus form. What a bastard!!! I am glad to see the last of him... err, it is the last of him isn't it? I know Harry will be inconsolable, but really.
The potions lecture for Ginny right in the middle of all that chaos at St Mungo's was brilliant. It was a great teaching moment that didn't feel at all contrived. Well done, Teddy. I like the idea that the Potioneer who makes a potion can make it even more active or powerful by adding some of his fluids to it just before it is administered.
The best part was at the end when Poppy hinted to Severus that she knew he and Hermione had a very special relationship: "You don’t stop caring for someone just because they don’t want you to, young man. She never has, at any rate. That’s not how love works.”
YES!!! Great chapter!

“I just believe that love is the only thing that is going to save us, like Lily saved Harry.”
Yes, she loves him, and she wants him to be her man and make her his woman. This is heady stuff for both of them, but he has promised to be her love. Woo hoo! Severus' run in with Sirius at the Order meeting was just what I would have expected. I hope Severus' remarks to the mongrel will not come back to bite him in the arse.

| Each new day brings Severus and Hermione closer together, solidifying the bonds that keep them together and safe within each other's arms.
I like the way Severus played Sirius like a violin after the Order meeting. I just hope is doesn't come back to bite either of them.

| Oh my, what a huge chapter, and not just length-wise, but in terms of seeing Snape dark/light (and what was done to him - shown by what he did to Dolohov) and cleverly working Voldemort and then the image of the final cuddle. I love his take on Hermione as pulling him away from orbiting the dead Lily (into life). Just an incredible chapter. You map so well to TOotP that I fear that they won't get the happy ending they so deserve, but will keep my fingers crossed. EWE? Author's Response: linn, those that know me refer to me as the HEA girl, but I am following canon rather closely.... Oh, who am I kidding? You'll just have to wait and see! hee hee | |||
