| Driven to tears yet again...**sniff!!**. That tender moment where they kiss and cry together, where he declares his love/devotion and protection...so beautiful! Are you a witch? Your stories are really quite "magical"...for lack of a better word! Author's Response: Thank you so much! One of my friends at Live Journal sent me a drawing she'd done of that moment (I have a writing nook and the walls are full of art that friends have done and sent me) and it is so moving...Hermione's eyes are closed and you can see the tracks of her tears, and Severus is holding her close, and his eyes are swimming with tears. | Lovely, lucious and gorgeous! Hermione is walking a fine line, and I think she would have confided in Draco had things not turned ugly that fast. I hope that together Hermione and Severus CAN protect Draco along with playing their parts. I think deep down he's a good good kid and really just needs someone he can trust to keep him safe. I often think that Canon Draco and Canon Harry could have ended up good friends had they not had the prejudices to mess things up for them (let alone Voldemort!) I like how Hermione handled the pregnancy termination. That turned out to be perfect timing to have that spell hit her, so that no one knew what really happened - or what that spell was capable of attaining - except for her and to a greater extent, Severus. Again, well done, and I look forward to reading more! Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really appreciate your patience in how long it took for this chapter to get finished - the Exchange took up a lot of time! It is very difficult for me to merge canon and fanon, and I hope I can continue to meld them, as well as give you a few twists and turns. It's going to get a lot tougher from here on out. | I KNEW it!!! For "Lass" to pepper Severus' vocabulary...it was AR in Blow Dry! (loved that bathtub scene...) Thanks for confirming his accent! I think it's lovely how he calls Hermione "lass"...it really shows him loosening up and allowing his affection to show through. I live in California, so not much in the way of any regional accents here! :( Author's Response: LOL, actually, and this is the honest truth, I'd written about 17 chapters of this before I ever saw Blow Dry, but when I lived in England, I worked with a Manc who called me "Lass' all the time, and I always got a little tingle from it. I've always wished they'd had AR give Severus some Northern inflection - it really is the most beguiling of the English regional accents to me - think of Sean Bean and all the Starks in Game of Thrones! I actually had a reviewer tell me it was silly for him to call her that - that I didn't know what I was talking about... I didn't agree, but hey, everyone has an opinion! Thanks for noticing - one of my reviewers, Ali, is married to a Manc, and she always gets a kick out it as well. | |||

| By the way, just wanted to thank you for the Laglan Love reference. One of my favorite CDs, Irish Heartbeat (Van Morrison & The Chieftains) has a version of this song...I can almost picture Severus and Hermione talking through the afternoon, but on "mute" of course whilst this song plays... Author's Response: Lagan Love was a song I first heard by Jean Redpath, the famous Scottish folk singer. I had her cassette (showing my age) and I almost wore it out. It was acapella, and so beautiful it sounded like a magical spell to me. I have always loved it, and I got a big kick out of weaving it into the fabric of this chapter. | |||

| I am realizing now that one of the main reasons I find this story so compelling is your Hermione. She is mature enough to anchor Severus, yet her innocence is what also draws him to her. The way she is able to take charge of each situation and deal with it appropriately is absolutely believable! I know in your responses that this canon fic is challenging, but to heck with canon, is what I say! Take this amazing story you've created and give HG and SS what they deserve! Forget how he bleeds out in the Shrieking Shack...after all, aren't we all still in denial over DH? I'll say it again....I LOVE this story! Author's Response: Thank you so much! | When you revealed how you were weaving your plot into the HP plot line, I admit wondering if it was going to shift more along those lines, and away from the wonderful story you created; I wondered if it would slow the pacing. But instead, it's almost like touch points and how you're reinterpreting situations is really captivating. Cheers and well done on it all. Author's Response: Thank you so much.
