On a side note, it almost feels like this story could be a prequel of sorts to "Father Figure;" it would explain why Severus was so eager to leave his Death Eater persona behind and embrace a calmer, gentler Snape. Signed Lol, glad i am not the ony one who sees characters in terms of "are they a red shirt" or not. Author's Response: Yes. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions as a writer. I'm doing that with my novel right now, and it's tough - you take a journey with a character, and you know that at the end they have to go. But you do try to do right by them on the way. So yes. Many have to wear the red shirt, but you make sure it fits well, is tailored just for them, and is clean and pressed and they are proud to wear it. Sheesh, it's true. When I'm in the writing zone, no metaphor's safe with me.
