This story was, in a word, amazing. Even though you are the writer, I feel like I have laughed and cried with you all the way. Thank you, so much, for giving me this experience. On a side note, it almost feels like this story could be a prequel of sorts to "Father Figure;" it would explain why Severus was so eager to leave his Death Eater persona behind and embrace a calmer, gentler Snape. Just a thought.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I never thought of it, but you are right, it could be a prequel to Father Figure, if you squint! When people ask for a sequel to Lay Me Low, that's what I'm going to tell them. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story, and I'm glad you took this journey with me.

*whistles, catcalls, and claps* A masterpiece! This was absolutely glorious! It will go down in history as one of THE BEST SS/HG fics EVER written.

Author's Response: Wow! Thank you so much! You have no idea how much that means to me. Truly, no idea, but thank you, thank you.

Oh so beautiful, a worthy ending to a wonderful story. I'm so glad the original ended so badly, because it gave you the opportunity to write a stunning AU that gave me so much of what those characters really should have been. Thank you for a Dumbledore sans hagiography, and a Severus who found redemption not through action but self forgiveness. Lovely lovely work.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you feel this way. It was exactly what I had hoped for.

I keep my phone browser open to this story and check for updates. I love how these characters leap off the screen, make real choices when faced with real decisions. H and S are not two dimensional here and I love them. That said, here is an up vote that Severus' de-aging has him looking like a 45-year old Rickman. Rawrrrr, we could live with that!

Author's Response: Oh, yes we could!! LOL Thank you for your patience. I am literally editing the final chapter of the story tonight and sending it back to Jules my beta. Hopefully it will be posted by the end of the weekend, and the story will be complete! I'm so glad you have enjoyed it, and I hope you will enjoy the ending.

Lol, glad i am not the ony one who sees characters in terms of "are they a red shirt" or not.

Author's Response: Yes. Sometimes you have to make hard decisions as a writer. I'm doing that with my novel right now, and it's tough - you take a journey with a character, and you know that at the end they have to go. But you do try to do right by them on the way. So yes. Many have to wear the red shirt, but you make sure it fits well, is tailored just for them, and is clean and pressed and they are proud to wear it. Sheesh, it's true. When I'm in the writing zone, no metaphor's safe with me.
