| I forgot to say a few chapters back how brilliantly you handled Snape assuming Harry had blabbed his humiliation to his friends and then had to recalibrate when he realized Harry had not. And then, in the last chapter or two, how darkly funny it was to think that Hermione forgiving him for having been a hurtful asshole to her for years WAS the greatest, coldest revenge she could have on him! The more sincere, the better! Heh heh heh. Take THAT, Snapey! <3 (Whom I love.) I enjoyed your slightly scary progression in Snape's thoughts from Lily having been immeasurably more beautiful than Hermione to Hermione being incredibly desirable. *beam* I enjoyed your pun that HG went into his arms like quicksilver. And my favorite thing in this chapter was his good sleepiness from the release. Yes, after all that one-sided longing for Lily, all the wrong lust as a Death Eater, this catharsis with someone who cares for him -- this is what broke the curse. | This chapter is quite an achievement! It is so amazingly dirty. :-) :-) :-) The way it both skirts and plays right into forbidden-relationship dynamics. The profound, reverberant joke about this being a transference curse. That...that had me deeper than laughter. Yes, transference does feel exactly, exactly like this! I love the way you show Snape fighting his urges; yes, that is the canon thing about this character that is the sexiest. I was worried for Hermione when she kept saying he couldn't hurt her because he was restrained; hurt is all in the talking, honey! :-) This is restraint-sex that is so much kinkier than your usual bound-wrists teasing. That moment where she knew she was over her head was intense and yet we know he is, too. And you left unmentioned the enormous upper hand she has over him, that she knows how her hand over his heart stills him and he does not; she knows he cries in his sleep and he does not; she has that security to back her leap of faith into her blood oath, whereas he has guilt and doubt. My money's on Hermione, and it's okay for Snape's to be, too. | Oooh! My whole family loves octopuses and I love the way their tentacles each have minds of their own, not particularly controlled by the central brain...and I know people say some hair, like Hermione's, has a mind of its own...but I never thought to put those two together! That is adorable and I like how Snape enjoyed that. I like how both of them are gorging on their subconscious manifestations of desire for each other. The whole "I want you too much; you have to leave, for our own good, because we're in it together" set-up is fail-safe sexy, too. :-) I did have a jealous snarl at the mention of Bellatrix Black, but hopefully our good girl will be way too much competition. Meanwhile, excuse me, I think I'll transfigure myself into a white girl with bushy hair and lurk around Knockturn Alley. Just, you know, in case. :-) Author's Response: LOL, Thank you for that! I based this 'spell' on the way Sempraseverus draws Hermione's hair. When I asked her why, she said that Hermione loves him so much, even her hair wants to snuggle with him. | Wow. His one true beauty! I have never seen this in a fic before, his knowledge of his beauty, and I am happily stunned. Gorgeous. And his using it as a mercy for those who are doomed. The game they're playing, the magnificent deception they're building together, is so dangerous! Brilliant minds such as theirs cannot possibly resist the thrill of being so darn GOOD at it! It's close to abuse, quite close, and they're both going to be terribly hurt. And the funniest thing of all: the concept of "safe word" being used as a punch line! BWAH! Author's Response: Thank you!
