You have a knack for making me bawl. It was beautifully written. It encompassed everything a soul fights to just survive daily. To be wholly cleansed. What a wonderful thought. You know? You are brilliant! What a wonderful mind you have. It has been a joy thus far to follow along. I wait patiently for your next offering. Thank you for sharing~Elou

Author's Response: Thank you so much. This was a very difficult chapter to write, but the feedback I have received makes it totally worth it! I hope the story will continue to please you. We're getting near the end, and things are going to get pretty tough from here on out, but I'll be okay as long as everyone stays with me!

"Severus Granger-Snape had unlearned how to be a coward. He had been the actor, the sufferer and the receiver. He would learn to be her hero." The most beautiful and poignant quote of the whole chapter for me. I can't wait for more my dear, dear Teddy!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I have the next chapter at the cleaners, so hopefully it won't take too long. I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

Phew, they’re back together; everything will be okay now. :) It’s common for SSHG authors to focus more on Severus’ character and psyche (and understandably so), but I really liked the insight into Hermione’s mind you’ve given us here. Anyone who’s as much of a perfectionist as Hermione has to have a few inner demons to contend with, and showing her insecurities and emotional struggles makes her seem more human, and makes her inner strength and determination to protect those she loves even more awe-inducing. Yes, Hermione was pushed into womanhood too soon by Sirius, by the war, by her own choosing (and thank you for that), and by Severus as well (also nice to see this fact acknowledged), but I think she’ll come out far stronger in the end, as a witch and woman, as a result. Already this Hermione is light years more mature than the one in HBP, who was still casting hexes out of jealousy and worrying about her marks. And while I can imagine canon Hermione going on to live a content, blandly pleasant life with Ron, I think it’s only with a life with Severus that she will be challenged to meet her true potential. I’ve always considered Hermione to be someone who blossoms under adversity (she was the quiet hero of DH for me), and with her heart and emotions recovered, there’s nothing she can’t face. So thank you, thank you Teddy for giving us a chapter on the awesomeness that is Hermione! (And I loved the return of littleswot!Hermione too!)

Author's Response: Thank you for this awesome review, Kelly. I am so glad that what I was trying to convey came across accurately to all my readers. It was something that really came out organically as I wrote the chapter. What started out as just a means to propel her into searching for her soul became this journey that developed as I wrote it, showing not only her admissions of guilt, but her insecurities and Severus' as well. It was a case of all of this happening for me almost at the same time as my reader, because it was all coming out on the fly as I wrote it. I, too think she was the unsung hero, and the idea of her and Ron was ludicrous to me by Book 5. It was clear she outstripped him by every margin there could be, and that she was meant for a challenge. When I started reading SS/HG fic, it seemed the most natural pairing in the world. These two were made for one another. Damn the age difference, they were so much alike I could honestly conceive a world where eventually they would have drifted together. Thank you for your encouragement, as always. And yes, I loved bringing littleswot!Hermione out to play as well, especially against Severus, who realised that even then, there was alot about her to love, if you looked closely.

I think the best compliment I can pay you on this chapter Teddy is that I totally understood your explanation and portrayal regarding the "flip-side" of horcruxes as it were. Often writers tend to overplay the magical elements which can leave matters incredibly convoluted and incomprehensible. Bravo, my dear for a lovely redemptive chapter for both of them. Best wishes, Love Ali xxxxx.

Author's Response: Thank you, Ali. That was everything I wanted this chapter to be for my readers. Thank you for those kind words, because I wanted to explain without bogging down in a lot of explanation or discombobulation. I'm glad I achieved that!

That was intense! I loved the idea of between, there never really WAS much explanation of soul-splitting and HOW they actually make Horcruxes but I think your explanation is wonderful. Your writing was fantastic and understandable too. Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I am relieved that it makes sense - I was worried that I was getting a little too 'out there' on this chapter! The biggest thanks goes to my beta, though. I had originally written this as a much more violent chapter, but she reined me in and very gently suggested a rethink, and as always, she was right! A huge part of the success of this chapter is due to her.

This chapter left me speechless. It's incredibly well written and the way you wrote about this Between world was simply amazing! Very imaginative and believable because it's obvious Hermione would not go back to being herself after killing a person. The inner conflicts of the characters are, as always, stunning! See you in the next review :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much! This chapter and the one before it were tough chapters to write, and thank goodness for Jules, my beta, who kept me on the right path, so that I could resolve things properly. This chapter owes so much to her.

So glad you were able to bring Hermione back, through Severus. I was seriously worried, at the end of the previous chapter. It's too late for me to be very eloquent ronight; suffice it to say I think you've done a terrific job, wroting these new chapters. Thank you again for all you do.

Author's Response: Thank you, Jong. I really appreciate your feedback, as always, and I'm glad the story (after nearly a year) is still able to please you.
