Author's Notes s50m 2012.07.05 - 03:06PM 31: Thirty: Love Has No Pride Signed Wow. This chapter was very gripping and intense. Hermione and Severus's drifting apart is very upsetting to read. These sentences were particularly powerful: "Hermione’s isolation was complete. She felt like she was standing on an ice floe, stranded in the middle of a stormy sea; the waves were getting higher, and the ice was growing thinner." That last sentence really conjured up a perfect mental image of Hermione's loneliness. And just when I thought the angst-factor couldn't get any worse, Severus walked out on Hermione and Hermione was basically kidnapped by the Carrows. All I can say is - Severus had better high-tail it to the Manor and help Hermione! I am on pins-and-needles, in anticipation of reading the next chapter. P.S. - Bravo to Minerva for approaching Severus and getting in on his "secret," although it certainly took her long enough to see reason! She said it was one of the toughest she'd ever had to work on, and it certainly was the most difficult chapter I've ever had to write. I'm glad that it had the emotional impact it did for you. s50m 2012.07.05 - 11:51AM 30: Twenty Nine: Tell Me No Secrets, and I'll Tell You No Lies Signed I loved the scenes with Severus, Hermione, and Ron. It is so refreshing to see Ron depicted as a clever chess-playing strategist, instead of a bumbling idiot. I'm glad that Ron knows what is really going on between his friend and his former professsor. But the ending with the Carrows is worrying me...I know that they are up to no good.
