| Oh, this scene between Reg and Severus is simply beautiful! I'm glad you did give them a time together. It may have been short, but so incredibly meaningful, each of them giving to the other. (If you ever do write that Regerus fic some day, I want to be first in line to read it!) Author's Response: Thank you! Apparently, my Muse wasn't ready to leave Reg alone! I will say it was Stgulik who gave them that beautiful kiss. I made it a little more of a 'I owe you' thing, whereas her suggestion was to make it a moment of love and beauty. I will always be grateful to her for her amazing sensitivity to this moment. And yes, one day, I'm gonna write that fic. Yep, as soon as I have the chance... | |||

| I had to reach for a tissue again when Minerva spoke of Hermione's devastation in class. Enduring the jeers of the students is one thing, but to be shunned like that by her teachers would be positively unbearable. | 1. Luna Lovegood is simply the best character in the entire Potterverse
2. OMG, Ron captured, silently cursing at them - priceless!
3. I love Ron figuring things out by observing, but was thinking it would still be smarter to Obliviate him.
4. Was really loving this chapter until (yet again) the last couple of lines snuck out and sucker-punched me... it's srsly time to go to bed... *shakes fist at author* Author's Response: Luna is a jewel to write - I love her to bits. I have never been able to give Ron a 'voice' before this story. He was almost invisible in my earlier fics because of that, but suddenly I found him in this one, and I've had a lot of fun writing him here. | |||

| First off, I must say that I'm giving up reading the song lyrics at the beginning - they're too ominous! :-}
Geez, how to review this chapter, so chock full of nail-biting events. I continue to be impressed with the way you're covering all the high (or low!) points in canon, but having them told from either Severus' or Hermione's POV makes such an enormous difference. Severus' tension after the 7Harrys scene was palpable! And I'm SO, SO glad that unlike canon, you've given them one person who can know the truth about them. A burden shared is a burden halved, they say. Thank heaven for Poppy! :) Author's Response: The song lyrics thing started off because the fic was based on a song - and then they took on a life of their own. In fact, some song lyrics helped me to figure out the direction of the chapter, strangely enough! I kept some deliberately vague, but many times when I was stumped, my Muse would send a song my way, and it was like a roadmap for the story. As I say, I have always loved Poppy, and with everything that had happened before, I just felt she would figure it out. | |||

| Holy cow, the horror of Hermione sitting there as a Muggle-born watching the death of Charity Burbage is almost too awful to contemplate. I appreciated you having her watch her entire death, bearing witness in her honor.
And now Lupin... this will be interesting! Author's Response: I think you can tell that this story has been, at times, very difficult to write. I've made some missteps, which, to her full credit, stgulik has caught and pulled me back on the path of righteousness! ;) This chapter in particular was tough, and reading it in canon, Severus sounds like one more cold-blooded bastard. I wanted to show that he was merely one very good actor who desperately was trying keep his cover. | |||

| Oh, I love this chapter about Regulus. I was sort of rooting for him and Severus to have had an encounter, since you seemed to be hinting about feelings between the two of them. For Reg's sake, I wish there had been. :'( I think Hermione would have been okay with it. Author's Response: I am not a person very big on Severus slash, but one of the few (and I mean very few) male partners I enjoy him with is Reg Black. I had not written any SS/slash at this point, and I chickened out, but one of these days I'd love to write a night piece about them as young men. | |||
