Awww... I love Poppy! She knows just the right thing to say and knows when to say it and when to keep her mouth shut. "Finally, the obligatory small talk ended..." I like how you used "finally" instead of "after" or something along those lines, because honestly, who likes to make small talk right before you have to discuss important matters after a tragedy. Little details like that is what made me fall in love with this story. Hermione shouldn't consider herself vain because she thinks her scar disfigures her and Severus won't like it. But I can understand why she does. But she just needs to think of it as an arrow pointing down to where she wants Severus to be! How mean is it to tell your own son that you do not find him handsome, even if it is the truth! Poor Severus... But Hermione finds him beautiful and that is all that matters. All the vurnerability in the last scene is plapable. You have such a gift to bring words to life. “I know you wouldn’t do anything I wasn’t ready to – to do.” "Wasn't" is the key word in this statement. I know I said this earlier in this review, but your attention to detail is amazing. It really is what makes the story.

Author's Response: Thank you so much - I really appreciate that you've mentioned all my little favourite bits! Most of the time, it's like water running over a rock in the story, and few people take note of htem, but you seem to see all of my favourite little 'rocks' in the stream. Thank you so much for your feedback.

It's great how Severus is seeing the changes that Hermione has brought on in him. How he now sees himself worthy of love and capable of loving. Severus is amazing at worming is way out of tight situations and putting the blame on someone else. Voldemort seems to have quite the soft spot for him and Severus uses that to his full advantage. Dumbledore needs to get his head out of the mud to see how keeping Harry and the cause of the Greater Good safe is hurting so many others around him. Are Muggles able to see the Dark Mark? If they are, then would the Death Eaters cast it over a Muggle home that is surrounded by other Muggles? And how would the government explain it? I'm so glad that Madam Pomfrey knows not to share information that is not hers to give out. I was getting prepared for a falling out between Hermione and Severus thanks to him preparing himself for it, but I'm so glad that she doesn't blame him. "Who is comforting who?" Isn't that the question of the day? It is the perfect way to end this roller coaster of a chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks!

I can understand Harry wanting to believe the best of Sirius, but believing him over your best friend is not okay. Harry and Hermione have known and lived around each other for five years, Harry had only known Sirius for two and barely spent any time with him compared to what he spent with Hermione. What is wrong with this kid?! I do love Madam Pomfrey's character, though. She is able to keep secrets, talk about sensitive topics in taste and has a sense of humor. But Hermione is now 18 and I think we all know where this may lead! I'm glad you let Hermione have an outburst while looking through her house. She just seemed way too calm about everything, it wasn't natural. But their revelations to each other was much needed. It brings them so much closer. It was funny that even the Muggle noticed that they belonged together even though they don't match each other, but they compliment.

Author's Response: Some folks are just like PB & J...

"...the one that Severus had overheard, and reported, when still young and smarting from Lily’s rejection." This almost implies that Severus knew that it could be about Harry and wanted to exact some kind of revenge for her rejection of him. Sirius is disgusting. He needs to be put down like the animal he is. He deserves to be strangled and I wish Severus would have. I love how you take events that happened in the book and make them your own while also adding in some that you came up with. They blend together seamlessly. Severus has finally admitted to himself that he loves her! Yay! And Madam Pomfrey knows and is okay with it, too! Yay! And that was a great little Potions lesson in the middle of the Hospital Ward while Pomfrey is healing Hermione. Totally not the time for it, but completely necessary! It's great how Ginny thought that it looked like they have kissed before when he was passing the potions to her (which by the way, he can pass anything he wants to me that way any day), and yet that little spit fire never said anything about it. I'm sure we will hear a little more about it later, though.

Author's Response: quite possibly...

Sometimes Hermione seems intelligent beyond her age. It never ceases to amaze me. They are learning so much about themselves through eachother. "I will be your love." Possibly one of the greatest lines ever! I was hoping Severus could have gotten out of the Order meeting before Sirius would have gotten to him, but alas, it wasn't fated and Sirius has to, again, show how much of an ass and creeper he is with a little backup thanks to Remus Lupin. I think it is fantastic that Severus has already imagined all the firsts that he is going to give Hermione. And that they both want it to be special, with all the fireworks and the whole shebang. It is amazing to me how Severus is able to think so quickly on his feet and change his memories to please Voldemort.

Author's Response: This is a favourite chapter of mine. I'm just so happy you are enjoying the story. I hope you will continue to enjoy it as it moves along. Thank you so much for your feedback. It is very important to me!

What the hell is Dumbledore's deal? Why won't he validate Hermione's truth about Sirius? Instead he tells Harry that Sirius doesn't have the chance to defend himself and that he must've misunderstood the situation?!?! I can understand that he doesn't want to upend Harry's world by telling him his Godfather is a molester, but to go as far as to insinuate that Hermione and Severus were lying?! But Severus did put him in his place, didn't he!! Go Severus!!! He acknowleged the fact that if he wanted he and Hermione could disappear and that their relationship will eventually become sexual in nature and the the Headmaster will allow it. And, yes, Dumbledore conceded. Hopefully Harry believes Hermione, even if he isn't willing to trust Severus. I'm surprised that Hermione didn't realize that the Blood Oath would have a connection between eachother when the other would be threatened. Does Hermione still think that Severus is going to under the influence of the Dark Caress until they consumate their relationship, or has he told her the truth about that?

Author's Response: I think by now they don't have too many secrets...they are too compromised with and by each other...

"It was clearly a case of each trying to piss higher up the wall than the other..." What a good phrase to describe it! If you don't mind, I am going to steal that and use it in daily conversation. ;) I fear that Severus is holding Hermione to the standard of Lily, and I don't believe it will turn out the way that he wants, since they are two different people living in two seperate times. Even though he told her it wasn't the case, I think it will still linger for a while longer. I could severely hurt Sirius for his lies! I can't necessarily blame Harry for believing them, however. He knew something was wrong and Sirius fed him a story that would fit.

Author's Response: Not a nice guy!!!
