Reviews for Lay Me Low

I can't even believe the reception this story has gotten. Most of the characters seem so OOC as to be ridiculous (Snape using "lass" every other word, really?), the story arches are trite (Hermione asking Snape to marry her? Hermione getting almost raped but feeling super horny within a chapter!), the overuse of deux ex machina type spells/curses (the blood spell? Snape's "Dark Caress" curse?), and the "lyrics" at the beginning of each chapter? I read through this entire story to try and give it a chance based on all of the reviews I read, but it's just too OOC for me to even get behind it.

Author's Response: Sorry you don't like it. I'll admit it's not my best work, but then again, I haven't read yours, so I don't know what type of fiction you write. The wonderful thing about fanfiction is that not everyone has to enjoy every story. I think the fact that I've had a lot of good reviews on it is that is does have a lot of things that people like to read. There are a lot of stories out there I don't like. I stop reading them. I suggest you do the same with this one - it is obviously distressing you to the point of rudeness.

You provide my erotica manna, as always, TR. Not to mention the perfect balance of character structure.

Author's Response: I thank you, Kittens. I do try to play to my strengths.

really great story. I stayed up late just to catch up! I like the way you are writing both characters, as well as Poppy. So glad they got a honeymoon! Let's hope Severus' fears don't come true!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm really glad you're enjoying the story.

Let us hope that it does not come up to that final option, then. Let us hope that the both have the power that "the Dark Lord knows not" and that they can outwit him. First, they would have to get rid of Bellatrix as she is so unpredictable that any potential plan could be ruined by her interference. Second, they should make themselves invaluable to LV. I hope that Severus' pessimism does not come to fruition, that it is not an omen of what is to come. Maybe they should be pro-active? I was awed by this chapter; the raw, emotional power that you describe could be channeled against enemies, couldn't it? Thanks again. I loved it.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Kermit! This was a tough chapter, and my beta literally sat me down and said, "You've got somethings all wrong here". Thank goodness she had the courage to do so, because when I saw where she was coming from, it all made sense and I could see where I had strayed from the path. I'm happy that this chapter ended up the way it did, but it's due in HUGE part to her.

This chapter has loads of different emotions swirling about. The magical love-making continued to burst forth, but each time it seemed more controlled, not as destructive, but more like a two pieces of fine precious metal being forged into a single perfect gorgeous goblet of love and desire. Narcissa and Bellatrix played their parts as if they had been studying their scripts for ages. Sadly, Severus felt the regret one often feels when a preordered-yet-unwanted outcome has been certified. The die has been cast. Severus' grisly decision to protect his wife, his love from the evils of Lord Voldemort or his fellow Death Eaters was borne of love and courage. He worships his wife, and will not allow an evil witch or wizard to orchestrate her demise. I think it is the most difficult, yet loving, thing he could do for Hermione if the worst that could happen befell her. When the time comes, if the Dark Lord has killed her, Severus would follow her into the beyond. He could not be without her, even in death. And before he would allow the Death Eaters to defile and destroy her, he would take her life himself. He would not let her be given over to his ‘brothers’ for their grisly sport. He would kill her, and then he would turn his wand on himself. What a helluva great chapter, Teddy. You've done it again!!! Beth

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Beth. I am always happy that you enjoyed my work.
