Oh Teddy....sorry I'm late in reviewing but I just couldn't immediately after reading the chapter. You spared us nothing in your powerful descriptions both of his suffering and Hermione's capacity for compassion. But what has he done in complicating her further into Voldemort's plans? Can't wait to find out. Best wishes, Love Ali xxxxx.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Ali. It's lovely to see a familiar face reading this fic. I have been blown into next week with the response to this fic. I hope you will continue to enjoy it.

The brutal torture that Severus underwent at the meeting with the Dark Lord was about as bad as I could have ever imagined. I don't know how he makes himself continue except for his determination to avenge Lily's death and to see to it that Hermione doesn't meet a similar fate. And, of course, to keep her safe from Sirius Black. But now because of the terrible pain and humiliation, and his desire not to die, he may have set in motion a worse fate for her. This will haunt is every waking moment from no on. Everytime he goes before Voldemort, he will have to show him "memoires" of his corruption of Hermione Granger. Not only will Voldemort be curious about Hermione, but Bellatrix now has her in her sights, as well. The compassion that Hermione showed the Potions master when he returned to Grimmauld Place was nearly his undoing, but thank goodness he had the presence of mind not say anything that would alert her to what he had done. So far so good. But I can't help but worry about what will happen as time passes and Sirius continues to pester Hermione. This is a fabulous chapter, Teddy, and I'm quite willing to go where your muse leads you. Beth

Author's Response: Beth, your reviews are always so in-depth and this is chocolate to a writer! Thank you so much for taking the time to not only read, but to give such thoughtful reviews. I hope you will continue to enjoy the story, and provide me with lots more chocolate!

What a powerful chapter - you portray so well the anguish that is Snape's life. Hermione has treated him with such compassion and respect - what will she do when she finds out about Snape's "boon?" This has the makings of a great angst-fest. And Sirius has never been a favorite character - I can so easily see him acting as he does in this story. I look forward to more!

Author's Response: Thank you - the response to this fic has been breathtaking. I hope you will continue to enjoy it.

it's rare to read story depicting the cruelty of death eaters to other death eaters. The tortuous way he was played with was hard to read. I hurt just reading how hurt he was. He has put himself into a situation with the Dark Lord and Hermione now. Let's see how this plays out. I hate so much that Snape is ridiculed and bullied so much. I love the fact that Hermione was there to help him.

Author's Response: Thank you. I have been staggered at the response I've received from this story. It must have hit a nerve with readers. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Stunningly frightening and incredibly gripping. I am completely in for the count on this one. One side note- biscuits, not cookies in Britain. ~Mia

Author's Response: Thank you! Ahh, I forgot. It's an old saying here. I only lived in Britain 10 years, so you think I'd have twigged that! I'll change it to last biscuit in the tin.

"She did not know that, in one brief, selfish, yearning moment of self-preservation, Severus Snape sealed her fate alongside his." This last line made me {{{shiver.}}} I'm completely hooked, and it's only the Prologue. Well done, Teddy! Now I'm off to the next chapter. Beth (beffeysue)

Author's Response: Thanks, Beth! I hope you continue to enjoy it! It is always very gratifying when a sentence or a phrase appeals to your reader. That always gives me a big buzz.

Very powerful story! I do feel for both of them, so alike in so many ways.

Author's Response: I think that's why this 'ship' is so powerful. You can't help but see that these two were made for each other, more than any other relationship in the series.
