Here I was thinking they were one up on Voldemort when this happens. Thank you for keeping them as a couple as I believe that together they will bring LV down somehow down the road. I think it's compelling the way you write Severus- being able to share his thoughts makes him vulnerable and so human despite his cold and calculated exterior. I truly admire your Severus and I hope that he and Hermione will strengthen their bond (are they soulmates? will they marry and bond?) to become the leaders after LV is gone. Well done! Thanks for the treat. Author's Response: Thank you, Kermit, for your kind and encouraging words. I have to say this fic is one of the toughest things I've ever written. So many fics have them in conflict all the time, and I just feel that there is enough outside conflict - we don't need them arguing or playing the pride game - there is too much at stake for that! I know where the plot goeth, but getting it there is a bit of a bumpy ride. I'm trying very hard to finish up the next chapter, but I really appreciate the support and feedback. Sirius changing into his animagus form to rape Hermione is ... dreadful, beyond reason (Azkaban related? as well as the pressures of solitary confinement at Grimmauld?) Dreadful but ingenious. I love how Snape stays in character snarling at Ginny & thanking her in the same breath. Author's Response: Thank you so much linn. I promise to get a little more in depth as to Sirius' inner workings a little further down the line. I am relieved that my canon is still holding - I solemnly swear I will never to a 'canon' fic again - it's too exhausting! Thankfully, I have a beta who is a canon genius and keeps me more or less straight. I just really hope that Harry gets a faceful of Hermione's memories of what happened. He has always needed a big dose of reality imo!!
