A beautiful chapter! Yes, there was a lot of death and torture... but the comfort that Severus and Hermione gave to each other... the love that they obviously feel for one another... It had me sighing and tearing up. And I loved the interchange between Poppy and "Min".

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Mimi! It was a pretty violent chapter, but I had hoped that it was not the tail that 'wagged the dog' so to speak, and didn't over shadow the real important parts of Severus and Hermione's support for one another.

Wow. I started reading this story a really, really long time ago. I left the story for awhile and then I waited for updates then, I had to reread (not the worst thing raft can happen to a person) a chunk of it because I just couldn't remember the whole story. This was such a beautiful story! I enjoyed so much of it. The flow was perfect and the characterizations were also perfect. Thank you so much for taking us on this journey. The fact that it took so long, only made it sweeter.

Author's Response: :) I think this is a copy, but I appreciate it as well! ;)

Author's Response: Thank you so much - I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you not giving up on the story altogether! Your patience means so much to me, and I am so happy you enjoyed it and that it brought you pleasure. And finally, thank you for such a lovely comment.

I know exactly what you mean. I've got the same error on my copy of DH2 as well. They must have sent out a faulty batch to the shops when it was first released, that can be the only explanation for that ending.

Author's Response: Absolutely! ;)

*I meant to say RE-watch DH2. (facepalm) See, I'm overwrought with emotion and can't type properly after finishing your wonderful piece! ;-)

Author's Response: *See message on previous review ;)

Omg Teddy, this story is majestic! I've been moved to tears, I've been on the edge of my seat and I've been incredibly moved by the love you wrote between SS & HG. The combining of your original story with the canon tale was seamless, so completely flawless it could have been originally written that way by JKR herself, in fact this story is how it should have ended (I still can't bring myself to watch DH2 due to Severus Snape's untimely demise...a travesty!) Anyway, bravo Teddy, you've outdone yourself with this one and thank you! xxx

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I am thrilled to pieces you enjoyed it. I don't like DH2 either - there is a glaring mistake on my DVD about 3/4 near the end where is appears that Severus is killed off. I'm going to have to get a new one that shows the proper ending ;)

Oh, how I wish he had said all those things to Dumbledore in the book! Albus seemed like such a jovial, nice man at first glance. Maybe even a bit of a bumbler. But, oh, what a Machiavelli! I thoroughly enjoyed Severus standing up to him here!

Author's Response: One of the nicest things about writing fanfiction is that you can write things the way you think it should have been written. Like so many, I thought of Dumbledore as this kindly old wizard with everyone's best interest at heart. It took the brilliantly written fanfiction of others to show me just how driven and cruel he could be. Then I went back and actually read the books again. The clues are there, but JKR's misdirections are too compelling, so we miss them (think of how he allowed people like Luna and Neville to be bullied, how he allowed the children to stay in school after the Chamber was open, how he trivialised Severus' anger about Sirius Black, knowing that Severus still thought Sirius was Lily's Judas.) it was good to get Severus' own back here!
