I have no idea if this had anything to do with your choice of name for him, but for what it's worth: William Welch was a graduate engineer from the University of Edinburgh, who worked on the Stumphouse Tunnel (in Oconee County) when until work on the tunnel was resumed in the 1890's and 1900. I will admit, I picked the name Leo Keown out of the air, but that just goes to show you that the Muse is in tune with his environment, since the Stumphouse is literally an hour away from where I'm sitting here typing! I had a Scottish friend named Leo, and Keown is the name of two brothers I know who are fantastic musicians. I tend to name my original characters after people I know.
