I just wanted to let you know how truly amazing this fic is! The way you describe the characters and atmosphere is simply brilliant and your plot rivals the one of the original book. It's stunning for me how you've developed this story and I cannot wait to read more of it! Good luck with the next chapter and keep up the great work!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much! I am blown away by your kind words. You cannot imagine how such positive feedback makes me feel. I hope that you will continue to enjoy the story.

If I hadn't hated Dumbledore before, I would now. Confronting him is like trying to punch fog. There's just nothing to grasp hold of. Damn him and his Greater Good. He and Voldemort are like twins.

Author's Response: They do have their similarities, don't they? He's not very well, bless, but he does have a way of being slippery when he needs to be. Well, things are coming to a head - I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

I think Dumbledore is being very callus, too, but that's sometimes the attitude that a general has to take before a battle. He knows that every one of his men deserves to survive and return home to his loved ones but that, through the general's own decisions, many will not. And the general often knows exactly which ones won't be going home. Though Dumbledore does seem unusually evasive and cold here he can't bleed for every soldier before the fact; he can only use them as effectively as possible to achieve the end goal. Of course, Severus is OUR soldier so please Teddy take an oz. but not a lb. of his flesh! I'm loving this and all your stories- thanks so much for these lovely word-gifts.

Author's Response: Bee, thank you so much for this thoughtful and insightful review. I agree with you totally - while I'm no fan of Dumbledore, he was doing what he thought was the best thing to do - he was not well, and he was an old man in a young man's game, so he was already having to fight at a disadvantage. But never fear, I love Severus and Hermione, and Dumbledore in my own, sick way, and although I do have some twists and turns for them, I hope that my solution will be both entertaining and logical! Thank you so much for your encouraging and kind feedback.

If it wasn't official, it is now. I hate Dumbledore. It takes good quality of writing to evoke powerful base emotions in people like that. I'm so much on Sev's side, it's not even funny. Brava, brava, you creative Goddess!

Author's Response: Thank you, Mosey baby! It's hard not making him 100% horrible though - he's, after all, a very sick man.... :)

Severus holding on to Hermione shows how vulnerable he is under that tough exterior. The fact that he is shielding his thoughts from her also shows that he wants to hide it from her (or he is planning something, but I doubt that). He is still in his spy mode, not wanting anyone to know his weakness and use it against him. What is it that Voldemort has planned for Severus? And how will Hermione be of comfort to him? And Bellatrix is a trip! How devoted she is to Voldemort! "It is a man’s task; a wizard’s task." Well, didn't that take her down a peg, not that you would be able to notice. She has so much zeal when it comes to torture and death. Dumbledore and his damned Greater Good! He acts as if he respects human life so much, yet he is unwilling to respect Severus and in turn Hermione who are the ones that are closest to him at the moment. The fact that he was so calm during this, even looking for a choice piece of candy, its scary how he doesn't care who's life he is ruining. How he would expel her and reveal their marriage, dreaming up a reason to get them out, cold-hearted bastard! Then bringing up the past, that he knows Severus beats himself up over every day. "There’s nothing left for us here.” I agree. Dumbledore is nothing anymore.

Author's Response: I agree he has been a bit cold blooded, but you must remember (not to defend him, because I too think he has little regard for the way he used Severus), this is an extremely ill and elderly man who is so busy seeing the bigger picture he has lost sight of the little things going on around him. Perhaps the next chapter will clarify things. I will be uploading it this afternoon. Yes, Bellatrix is mad as a spoon, but she's also very deadly. We haven't seen the last of her, I'm afraid.

This is an amazing story. And, as with all your work, is beautifully written: 'He made love to her the same way he had healed her - with his voice, his mind, his magic, and Hermione was mesmerized by the power and adoration in this beautiful act.' That has to be so much nicer than saying 'they had a quick shag' (or words to that effect!!) If only more writers had your gift of such poetic phrases. Thanks for another enjoyable read. (I'd rather let this story slip away & not kept up-to-date but I'm back on track now) :-)

Author's Response: LOL Nothing wrong with a quick shag, but I know what you mean ;) Thank you so much - I appreciate your kind comments and encouraging feedback so much. I hope you will continue to enjoy the story!

Jesus. What an agonizing confrontation. Dumbledore is a sadistic, manipulative old coot. I wonder if they'll go renegade and save the world on their own terms. I'm so afraid for them, Teddy, you've got me on the edge of my seat!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I will tell you that the next chapter is going to be uploaded today, so hopefully you won't have long to wait until the next one!
