Reviews for The Succubus

OK, I admit Hooch handled that well. I like her better now. "She hated to wake him, but they needed to go up to bed." -- Is she not a witch? How about Levitating him up the stairs? Transfiguring the sofa into a bed? Severus is just too perfect. So understanding, in-touch with his feelings, able to discuss even uncomfortable or embarrassing matters with calmness. Is he really a man? ;-)

Author's Response: only imaginary I'm afraid. ;)

OK, that was weird. Although I'm glad Minerva made a fool out of Hooch, the whole thing seemed completely unprovoked. See what alcohol will do? The story seems to be lagging again, now that Severus's night terror has been vanquished. I think your portrayal of Hermione as insecure and jealous is accurate, based on how she was in HBP regarding Ron and Lavender. I'd like to see more of Severus confronting his past. Surely he hasn't changed 180 degrees in just a few days of being with Hermione. All that bottled-up anger and insecurity must come spilling out sometime.

Author's Response: The point is that liquor makes us do some strange shit--especially arguments/fights. I can't tell you how many bar room brawls I've been in. *winks* Severus has a little more growing to do, yes.

No, Hermione, no, don't try to become someone else! Does the girl have no self esteem? You know, I just don't see the staff sitting around getting drunk at every opportunity. The metaphor of the seasons was nice. Hmm... No, I don't like Hooch. I can't understand Hermione warming up to her, either. She just goes against my grain.

Author's Response: Some women are that way. I've been there, wondering what was so bad that my love wasn't returned and wishing to be something he'd want. Then I ended up saying, "Fuck it." LOL I adore Hooch. She'll get better. Promise.

That was weird with Ron barging in like that. Not sure I saw the point of that, from a story development perspective. I liked that you didn't have them fall into bed again so easily. It was tempting to have a make-up scene there, but I liked it better this way.

Author's Response: He's just trying to be a good friend and check on things. I'll always have extra bits in whether pertinent to the plot or just the character. I don't think he'd sit home the whole time not knowing without having curiosity get the better of him.

OMG!!! That was incredible!! I couldn't stop crying when Hermione had her baby and the way Severus felt lost! Where can I find the sequel?? Once again, you know how to write very well, I have loved all your stories! Job well done!

Author's Response: It was hard to write because I'd hoped to do it justice. Thank you. I've not written out the sequel yet. I really need to do that. :( Cheers

Yes, that's better. I like Severus in a temper. *tee-hee* I like that Harry sympathizes with Snape kicking Mrs Norris. Not that I'm for animal cruelty, far from it, it was just nice to see such a quirky point of common interest between the two men. The dream is very cool, but I'm trying to figure out how the consiousness of the actions works. How come Snape is not aware of or in conscious control of his actions, while Hermione is, if they both took the same potion? I'm glad you didn't have Snape respond to her declarations of love right away. WTF?! Lord Potter??! "if the bird had shoulders, they would have shrugged" -- LOL I thought Hermione got a bit gushy toward the end there. Really good chapter, though.

Author's Response: Well, I suppose it has to do with Snape being infected with the bite while Hermione has not been. *smirks at the Lord Potter bit*

Ooh, I like Not-Playing-Fair!Harry. Not sure I'd like Dark!Harry. Sneaky plan! I'm finding Snape softening up toward Harry too quickly. But maybe that's because of Lily, as you hinted at earlier.

Author's Response: I love dark!harry! Unfortunately, you may not like that there is much more of that to come. Lots to do with Lily/Snape.

That's always bothered me: Hermione was called "the cleverest witch of *her* age" in PoA, meaning she was the smartest 14-year-old around. No one thought she was the cleverest witch of *the* age. Dumbledore and others living at the time were obviously more clever than she. No, I agree with Severus, I don't really think Hermione is like Devil's Snare. I am very glad that you are bringing up Severus' past as a Death Eater. That gets swept under the rug all too often.

Author's Response: Yes, I just saw this discussion on one of the yahoo!groups not long ago. Luckily, it's her child that will be "brilliant" in this story, as to why the entity is interested. Death Eater tales are usually interesting--in my point of view anyway.
