| Severus' reaction seems perfectly in character for him in this story, but I confess that I am terribly relieved that he didn't follow through with his plans at that moment. At least now, when he talks to Harry, he will be relatively calm about it.
My guess is that Severus went to get his mother's ring - the sooner it's on Hermione, the more certain he'll feel.

| Wow, good chapter. I like what you did with Harry and the parseltongue thing. Bit freaky if you ask me, but hey whatever he thinks best. Nice to see more interaction between Severus and Harry. Really great present! But the bit I liked most had to be the interaction with Hermione and Severus. Sphinx was lovely and then to add that whole Dark Arts thing... well I for one got very into it all and felt all emotional. Good job!!! I like! Esp Rolanda er... fixing it or at least bringing him to his senses. Maybe it's the whole pg hormone thing, but I have to say I cried when he did. Lovely once again. | I think I forgot to mention that I don't trust Lucius. Draco, yes, but not his father. I like the chapter, I hope 26 will get posted and uploaded soon. As for Sev's reaction to the parseltongue spell, I don't blame him. Harry should have told Sev what he was going to do before he did it. | That was an interesting spell Harry did on Hermione, but he should've discussed with Snape first. After all, it was Dark Magic, what was Harry thinking? It would seem that Harry would be getting a lecture anytime soon. And Snape, for a minute there, I thought he was going to hurt Hermione. He seemed possessed! He definately needs to lose his possessive streak, it will not do well on a relationship, believe me. Also, I wonder how well Hermione will react when she finds Harry's gift to Severus? | Compared to the usual swiftness of your updates this took a lot longer than what us spoiled addicts have grown used to, but all in all I don't think it was all that many days to wait... Besides, the queue held everyone up, didn't it? Why am I going on about this when I've just finished another one of your brilliant chapters? Gods, I ADORED this! I don't think Severus's outburst was too much; he's got a lot of troubles from his past haunting him, after all, and it's only natural that he's struggling in a situation like that. I'm glad, however, that he (Hooch) saw sense before it was too late and quickly realized his mistake. And the present for Hermione was beautiful, by the way! And I can really picture them having a long betrothal, just to declare their love to the world... AND I'm curious as to what Percy wants! (My my, what a long review this is turning out to be...) In any case, another great chapter that had be completely swept off my feet, so to speak, and I cannot wait to find up what is up next! Pure brilliance, my dear friend! | Showing Snape's anger and possessiveness of Hermione in the way that you do shows his humanity and the reality of how early childhod experiences affect a person and how they respond to relationships and stressors later on in life. There is a truth about the cycle of abuse that is passed down from one generation to the next, despite a will to rise above that vicious cycle. However, this is a potentially volatile situation where extreme anger, physical abuse, and emotional repercussions can arise even with the best intentions at hand. I can see this with the way you are trying to portray Snape and his early childhood relationships with his parents, his relationship with Hermione, and the potential relationship with any children that may arise from this union. You should continue to explore this facet in Snape and how it affects those around him. It is good that there are other characters in the midst -- Albus, Minerva, Hooch, etc. all of whom can offer different aspects as to what you are trying to get your audiences to know. Snape's early memories of relationships are key here, as are his expression of these thoughts to others and Hermione's manner of understanding what he has just said or not said." These are very important to the progress of this story.

| About half way through the chapter I started mentally composing a review where I yelled about Severus acting out of character, but by the time I reached the end I realised his actions made a lot of sense. So now I have nothing to say but good job, update soon, and don't worry about your rep for quick updates; I've been waiting MONTHS for some stories to update...
