Reviews for The Succubus

That. Was. Brilliant. Harry gaining control of the Dark Mark magic. I am totally in awe. Bella was also completely evil and freaky. Loved her. I was afraid you'd kill Luna, but Percy getting killed doesn't really bother me. I think because he was never really a friend of the main characters, though, not because he was a prat or anything. But hey! Where were Severus and Lucius?

Author's Response: Yeah, not many people cared about Percy's loss. I had originally planned to off Luna, but I couldn't do it when the time came.

I remembered the detention! I just thought you hadn't written it up. "Worry not on him"? "What say you"? That sounds like something from Jane Austen. *snicker* Someone's all hot and bothered... That's nice that Hermione's first day was positive. Also nice that Draco has warmed up to the Gryffindors so well. So... Why is Draco able to withstand the Imperius so easily? I assume he wasn't really under Marietta's influence when she did her thing to him. But why in the world would she have thought he wouldn't have agreed to that without it?? He's a 17-year-old boy, for crying out loud!

Author's Response: I'm such a sucker for regency stuff. It sometimes spills over into my writing. I've found that I am keeping it out more now though, in my latest stories. :) I'd like to think Draco was taught to throw it off, kind of like Harry. Poor Marietta. Guess she figured he's turn her down. LOL

Whew! That was a great scene with Severus and Harry battling (*cough*practicing*cough*). The pace was electric, and the strategy on both sides was creative. Excellent. And the scene with Bellatrix was ab-fab. She is such an evil bitch. You have her down so well. And once again, really good timing, switching around to the various parts of the story.

Author's Response: I had fun with that duel. Glad you are enjoying.

*shivers* Harry's Parseltongue spell was spooky. Wow. The photo album was very powerful. Nice gift. I always have a hard time figuring out what presents characters should give each other. That's a good one. Hmmm. That Steward fellow is starting to act mighty suspiciously. LOL! The panties! Hmmm. Yes. Severus in lacy panties. Rrraaoowww! Ooh, sex game. The Professor and the naughty student. Fun. Well, son of a gun. What were the odds that Hermione would buy exactly the Sphinx that Severus had lost so many years ago? Might there have been some kind of magic going on there? Severus' reaction to Harry's spell was perfect. I also liked the spell itself, the idea of Harry marking Hermione in a certain way. And now? Is Hermione going to stay smelling of Harry? This was a fun, interesting chapter.

Author's Response: I often fret over gifts too, trying to find some original. It's hard. LOL. Yeah, she'll keep Harry's "scent" for a while yet. hehe.

Yowsa, I wasn't sure whether that was the succubus returning or not. In fact, I'm still not completely sure.... No, I'm sure now. It was really Hermione. Tricky, that. So ol' Bellatrix is still around, eh? She's a fun character. Completely evil, but fun. Even more than Voldie. Excellent scene between Harry and Snape. Harry needs therapy for all he's been through, and Snape is acting in the role of a therapist here. Also, he understands the urge to use Dark magic, the tantalizing power it gives one. I like that Severus doesn't tell Hermione absolutely everything. He has always been a private person, and I don't think that would change, even if he were in love. I'm feeling sorry for Hooch now, after hearing how her lover was killed by Voldemort, and how she has learned to put up a brave front, not show how she's hurt by others' careless insults.

Author's Response: There was a great bit more to Hooch than I'd first let on. I really like the character and use her often. There is much more Bella on the way. Teehee.

Good pacing, nice scene changes. Covering all the bases. I like that Draco's become one of the gang. Nice re-cap of the adventure with Aragog & Co. BOOM! Guess that was quite a bombshell for Draco with the diary. Experiment with snake skin? That sounds...icky. And intriguing. Huh? Albus would have wanted his son to be like Severus? Tortured, unpleasant, friendless? OK, Severus has good points, too (otherwise I wouldn't love him like I do), but all in all I think Dumbledore's exaggerating just a bit. Thanks for letting Hooch explain herself a bit. I find her more sympathetic now. *snicker* Snape's turning into Dumbledore. Yeah, I can totally see that.

Author's Response: Thanks. I don't think that Draco really knows exactly what his father is capable of, and I don't think he truly condones it (like in HBP). I often like tales where the Malfoys are redeemable, so you'll usually see that.

I think Dumbledore meant that Snape's a strong man. He's been through all that and is still able to cope and move on. Nothing wrong with that. He has friends amongst the staff and the Malfoys. I do like his snark, though. Hehe. Hooch is one of my favorite minor characters. :)

Ooh, the tongue, the tongue! Nice of Hermione to be friendly to boring old Stuart. I appreciated the reasoning behind it, too. HA! Ron and Draco bickering: cute. I like that Severus and Harry had that talk. It does seem plausible. It's not like they're buddies now or anything, just that there's more of a mutual respect. And I like what's happening to Harry, with the wild magic.

Author's Response: Oh, cool. I'm happy you are enjoying it more now. Poor Stuart. He'll have a better part soon, though I fear he is a boring bloke. LOL

“And, I will have you each night. You are mine.” -- I like Severus when he's possessive. That's our Hermione, rising to any challenge with determination and gumption. Aw, doesn't she miss her kitty? Urgh. Politics. Boring. Skimmed that part. Hope it's not crucial to the plot later. :-) Rrrwrwrowww. Lemony goodness in the bath. Sweet. So, what was that, then? Head and Shoulders? Whoa. Suddenly it's all right for her to entertain Ron alone in her private rooms? That's not what he said back when the Succubus/Incubus was prowling their dreams.

Author's Response: I enjoy a possessive Snape, too. I'm not sure what you mean by politics. Usually, some minor does come into play later. If you end up feeling lost, don't worry. It'll be explained. Skim all you'd like. Poor dear. You seem to be skimming my great boring tale a good bit. Pity. :( I think the situations have changed, leaving him more at ease with Weasley. Cheers. ;)
