| I am so caught up in this story.. I just happened upon this site, by chance, and found your story... Since then I have read it day and night until I finished it... Most stories I have read with couplings of this nature isn't this envolved.. I feel for the characters, I see their pain, I long for their happiness.. | WOW! I've been reading this story for the past two days and I must say that it is one of very few stories that gets even better with the next chapter.
Your characterization of our dear Severus is SO SPOT ON! I've never pictured him inclined towards doing the right thing for anyone but himself. However, I can see an emotion such as love for someone else overpowering whatever selfish inclinations he may have -- causing a conflict you so brilliantly illustrated in this last chapter. Author's Response: I'm happy that you are enjoying this story. Most of the time, I was unsure which side he was going to end up on. I had my ideas, but I was uncertain how to convey it as "a man out for himself and what's his" and such. Love makes us do some crazy stuff sometimes, eh? hehe.. Thank you for reading. | Oh dear, that was an interesting chapter. I liked Snape's soulsearching and the way you described Hermione's feeling of being trapped. | Sorry I took too long to read the chapter. I like it. I like the way Severus thinks all the posibilities he has before acting. The thought process was more important to me than the choice he made. I don't get Severus jelousy. I may understand his hatred to Harry but I don't understand why he think there's something between him and Hermione. In fact, any student showing exceedingly great magical ability would be destroyed immediately. It wouldn’t do to train someone that had the ability to overthrow him, now would it? A bit paranoid, don't you think? But at the same time shows that Tom still considers himself human... he still thinks someone may overthrown him... no delusions of being godlike. Author's Response: No worries, dear Maddy. I agree about the thought process bit. Hmmm... about Severus' jealousy, I was playing on some things I'd hinted at in previous chapters. Him finding Harry / Hermione in bed, resulting in him putting a ward on Harry's door to keep her out of there. Also, he found them hugging recently, and I was trying to show that he's been annoyed with her going on about Harry so much since he's brought her away. I was trying not to come out and say that he was jealous of their relationship, but one some level, he is. He wants her world to be all about him, but Harry keeps cutting into it. I'll try harder in my next story (should I use this again) to explain that better. Thanks. I see Voldemort as prepared and slightly paranoid. In his mind, there might be another prophecy one day or another Potter. He's not so arrogant so as to not worry about any threats, but he foolishly believes that he can extinguish any that oppose him. He's not that powerful, though he believes himself to be. I'm going to have more of him in the next chapter. :) Thanks, doll. | |||

| Well thank Merlin for that, not that I think you wont twist Sev's mind back the other way a few times before this is over, sneaky SW69. Brilliantly written and eagerly awaited.
