I read this story ages ago and failed to leave a review, for which I apologize. I'm happy to have found it again by coincidence! I enjoyed reading it both times, and I really liked the idea of how DD staged his death and how Voldi had planned on making a horcrux out of killing Harry. That totally makes sense. You were complaining about the carnage in Book 7, and I partially agree with you. Killing Snape and both, Remus and Tonks, was unecessarily cruel in my opionion. But I guess JKR never wanted to write a book in which love conquered all evil, otherwise she would never have senselessly killed Cederic. In fact I have never forgiven her that - Cedric and Harry sharing their victory was something that Voldemort could not have forseen, and it should have made a difference. It didn't. I guess JKR wanted to write a 'realistic' story. Though why she chose to do so in a story about magic and flying brooms that was intended for CHILDREN remains a mystery. It is a kind of unwritten law that good has to fully triumph over evil in childrens' books. I would have preferred a different ending, too - where love really made a difference, if only because of many friends loaning Harry their power. Your ending was nice, though, too. That room had to be good for something. I think I once read a fic in which they lured Voldi into the room at the end, which finished him off. So more readers obviously wondered about that mystery. :) One minor thing that I missed in this story: An explanation for why Severus called everybody 'whores'. Did I overread it somewhere? It seems unlikely that sharing his body with DD's soul should suddenly make him vulgar. Or was he experiencing something like Tourette? I'm not very familiar with this affliction, but I believe it's a little different than just calling people names. Actually, if you replaced all the 'whores' in Severus speech with people's real names, he sounded pretty sane most of the time. In case you have never read it: You should give Aurette's 'The Occluded Soul' a try. It also depicts Severus as a madman as a result of what happened on the tower, though for a slightly different reason. I think a fusion of both your ideas would actually make a perfect story! Thanks for sharing - it was fun reading it again!

A truly fascinatingly original story: long but absolutely irresistible. Thank you.

I really enjoyed this. I think your use of love as a force makes more sense than Rowling's, actually. Thank you! P.s. you may mean "Canon" in your final author's note.

I'm loving the chemistry. Obviously, since I'm still reading! I love a slow burn. FYI "all to well" should be "all too well". And if I'm noticing that, it means that you've done a great job thus far, because it's the first nit that I've picked!
