| This is amazing. One of my absolute favorite fics. If you don't post another chapter I'll be very upset. I love the characterization of derranged Snape. Most people who have an insane Snape have him as always dangerous like a loose-cannon. I love your Snape, he's the perfect balance of hazardous and harmless. Author's Response: Thank you so much! | I am really interested to see where this story is going. Is Snape faking craziness so that he will be able to go wherever and do whatever without people questioning him? Or is he really crazy and we will see Hermione "nurse" him back to health? My hats off on your originality. I also think that it is hysterical that he keeps using the word "whore". | I don't think I've commented on this yet-- bad me!
It occurs to me that this is likely to be considerably longer than your other SS/HG stories, simply due to the pacing. It's taken you eight chapters to develop an excuse to have them routinely in one another's presence, and hints of a crush aside, developing actual feelings will be a long, drawn-out process. If it were any other author, I'd be afraid that you'd get bored halfway through and either abandon it or pull a wildly implausible deus ex machina trick to hasten the conclusion. Happily, I trust your skills and tenacity, and will simply sit back, relax, and eagerly await the coming chapters. I don't know where this is going yet, but I'm sure I'll like it when it gets there. Author's Response: You know, I never have any idea how long a fic will be until I write it. But I have also been suspecting that this one will take some time. Oh, I don't think it will turn into War and Peace, we will eventually get to some action that will speed things up a bit. But you are right, it did take some doing to get the main characters together in the first place. It's not easy to get Harry in a room with Albus-killing Snape and not have anyone's socks hexed off! So we'll see where the fic takes us. I'm thinking at the moment that it won't be much longer than Overcome With Feeling. I haven't abandoned a fic yet, and I don't intend to start with this one! It's far too much fun to write! I also promise you that I know exactly where this fic is heading, all the way to the end. So while the pace may pick up a little as things start happening, I'm not suddenly going to write some trash ending just to get it done! Thanks and keep reading! :) | |||
