| It's been some time since you updated, but I do hope you return to this. Although the story is AU now, you did a remarkable job of fitting it into canon through book 6, and the truth of the matter is that any Hermione/Snape fan has to be willing to write/read AU. Damn that pesky epilogue. I think you wrote a wonderful story, and dealt very cleverly with many of the unanswered questions. I really liked the goblin soul magic. I know I'm not alone in wanting to see the end - I hope you come back to it! And in the meantime, hopefully RL and healthy weight loss has continued to treat you well. Cheers on a fantastic story! | It's because it's AU, now, isn't it? You stopped after the 7th book was released. You like your stories to fit into canon, and when they don't anymore it irritates you. You mentioned you lost interest in writing a sequel to Drowning for similar reasons.
I've done the same. I have several abandoned fics because I lost interest after the next book came out and it no longer fit into canon. It was hard to write about Severus and Hermione having a love affair when I knew he was dead, or Albus and Minerva, when I knew he was both dead AND gay. But the thing is, you're a much more talented writer than I ever was, and this fic is so, so much better, and it deserves to be finished. It really does. You have so many people who would love to read it. Please consider it. Author's Response: AN on chapter 30 will explain why I stopped. But I do hear what you are saying. I would have liked to have finished this fic before book 7 came out. If I'd been smart, I wouldn't have read 7 until I had. Now, i have played wildly and unashamedly with cannon berfore (ie: OWF) but this fic I was trying to stick with the cannon of the first 6 books. And that's fine with me. I let my stories be what they are. I never re-write them to take into account cannon that didn't happen until after I wrote the fic. | |||

| Oh, PlaidPooka, say it isn't so. I re-stumbled upon this, and I remember it well. I probably haven't read it since its last update in 2007. I'd nigh forgotten it, but it's so terribly good. I never thought you would be the type to abandon a story - and this is such a good one! It makes me terribly sad. Please, please don't let this divine work go to dust, especially so near its completion. Author's Response: Book seven kind of broke my heart, but I'm finally back on track. | |||
