| This was a poignant chapter. It was sad to watch the interplay between the once strong man and his former student. Hopefully it will help them both. | Aww, this is so sweet! I love love love your story. However, as I was reading, I thought of two alarming notions. 1)I have known the title, "The Price of Madness," ever since the beginning of the story. But I never really thought about it, I guess. What really is the price of madness? Is it that Severus can't be with Hermione just yet? Or is it something different, something more sinister? How will Severus pay the price for his condition? 2) Hermione is in love with Severus. I've known that for a while as well. But what happens when he becomes the same old sarcastic bastard he used to be? Will she love that Severus too, or are her affections limited to the scared little boy version? Though you probably can't tell me, I'd love to hear the answers! :] Author's Response: Hmm...let's see what I can say without ruining anything. The title comes from Severus choice to do that spell on the tower. He knows that he risks his sanity to do it, but there is some reason that makes him decide that it is a reasonable price to pay. Nothing more sinister than that. Hermione does not have amnesia. *giggle* I'm sure that she remembers how Severus was before. I'm not saying that there isn't a little Florence Nightingale syndrome going on, but that isn't all there is to it. Remember way back when she was forcing Ron and Harry to look at Severus actions while they were at school. The man she was describing might not have been nice, but he was brave and decent. To me, it was that discussion that put the seeds of interest in her mind, and his helplessness when he came to them only magnified them. Hope that helps! Thanks! :) | |||

| Yes!!!! Hair brushing can be very romantic, hubby and I take turns, will Severus tackle Hermione's hair? Author's Response: I love hair brushing. Unfortunately for me Mr. Pooka doesn't care for it. *sigh* I haven't yet decided if Severus will turn the tables or not. Thanks! :) | |||

| OMG!! I completely missed the diffierences in the killing spells. That is a very sharp piece of info. Thank you for bringing it to light!!!! Author's Response: That whole Albus flying off the tower thing has been bothering me since I read the book. I don't know if it means anything, or if JKR was just being inconsistant.
