| Yay!! I was so hoping that you would update today!! Aawww....Severus defended her to Kreacher. House-whore indeed!! Lovely chap., especially the ending about the contagious laughter-just sweet. Good to see Hermione wrestling with her conscience. Could the woman squirm anymore? And DAILY showers....oh dear. Glad to see that Severus is trusting Harry now, and that Harry is getting him some new duds. This is SO MUCH FUN!!! Author's Response: Poor Hermione is having a rather hard time of it, isn't she! | Another good chapter! I like the descriptions of the house throughout; I never get the feeling I'm just reading dialogue. It's nice to see versions of Harry and Ron who act resonably as well. I admit though, even as I enjoy the funny back-and-forth between H and S, her attraction to him in madness is still a little disturbing to me. You deal with this well, I think, with the discussion about him not being able to know what he truly wants in that state, it just seems like such a difficult mix of emotions. That's probably partly what makes the story so interesting though. :) Author's Response: Believe me, Hermione's attraction is disturbing to her as well. ;) I think that we don't always get to chose who we are attracted to, and folks often are attracted to inapropriate subjects. But Hermione is a strong young woman, so I wouldn't worry too much. ;) I'm glad that you are enjoying the house descriptions. I'm doing my best not to get too heavy-handed with them. Thanks! :) | |||

| thanks for the quick updates! this is getting to be my favorite story, i'm checking ashwinder everyday to see if you've updated. :) and this chapter was a particularly good one, twas a hoot to see Severus horsing around with Harry and Ron in the end. | I loved this chapter so much I had to read it twice. Severus' hysteria--the humorous kind-- over matters that would amuse eleven year old boys is a kick! It just goes to prove that men never really grow up, that part of them will laugh at potty humor even when they're in their eighties. Hermione's fascination with the male anatomy is right on target, too. Girls look and admire from afar, but they don't perv, generally, unless they're interested in a particular boy. She respected him first, absolutely essential first step. I'm glad Harry and Ron can be mature about having Snape in the house, and can be kind to him. My compliments to you, and to the estimable Vaughn, who not only knows the beta job inside-out, but writes bang-up fiction as well. My favorite part: "If she was to be an honest caretaker, she should make certain that Severus showered daily. In some ways that would be torturous, but Hermione knew that she had to be strong and continue to do what was best for the poor man in her care." What an enormous sacrifice! Watching Severus Snape shower every day! Who needs a book? (unless it's a sketch book!) Bring the camera! Author's Response: Lol, you said it! I'm a firm believer in Men Never Really Grow Up! Hell, my fella is an intelligent and lovely fellow, but he'll still laugh at "fart jokes!" :D As far as Hermione and her peeking goes, I obviously agree. I would have at least peeked at that age, and I was very innocent. But she'll want that book (sketch book! LOL!) because she's knows she'll be mortified if she's caught staring! *snicker* I think that is a sacrifice that we all would gladly do! Thanks, doll!
